I am very excited for your journey, too. Please keep us posted how your son is doing.

Sincerely, Rei

Hey gang - so I took my son to a local TCM yesterday -Boy, he was terrible (my son, lol) - I can't rememberthe last time I saw so many behaviors in one setting! So, although he wouldn't let the Dr. take his pulseor do the palpatations, he did get a good look athis "issues", climbing and shredding - vocal stimming!I really liked the Dr., though with my son all overthe place and his thick Chinese accent, it was difficultto take it all in (reminded me of my racing brain atmy first DAN appt oh so many years ago!) He felt phlegmand liver were my son's main issues.I am going to be picking up our herbs this morning andwith the Dr's suggestion have decided to stop all othersupplements for a 2 wk. trial. This is huge for us, myson has not missed a supplement dose in 4 yrs of biomed. I have no idea what he will look like off ofthem (we began DAN at 20 mos. old), but what I do knowis he

is a complete stimfest of late, and anything willlook better than what we are seeing now, lol! I have been wanting to take a break, but have been too scared. The herbs give me confidence that he won't be "high anddry", the Dr said they have more beneficial vitamins inthem than any multi vitamin on the market... we'll see. The Dr suggested honey to cut the bitter taste of ourherbs, but I am glad stevia is acceptable too. I thinkmy guy will take the tea, he is pretty good with supps. Will keep y'all posted - I am very excited to hopefullyfind a calm place for my guy... of course cognitive gains would be icing on the cake - we have been stuckfor a long time, very slow progress the past year, nonverbal, etc!

This is great! I will never remember to go check your blog daily.

Would you occasionally remind us to go check it out?

Also - to everyone who is interested - I just gave an update on my ds,

but 's blog entries reminded me of a good point I hadn't

mentioned. We have had a lot of stool improvements over many months on

SCD, but we have seen even more improvement with TCM. Our ds used to

have a BM everyday, but he had dropped to every other day since he

potty trained at the beginning of October. On the herbs, that has

improved and he is usually back to everyday. Also, on the herbs he

would have a formed BM and then the next one would be completely loose

(not watery, just very loose.) If he hadn't gone one day, then it

would be formed for the first half and loose for the second half. The

last couple days have been formed without any loose. The really

interesting part that I had noted as so unusual is that the BMs have no

smell at all! I can tell this because I sit directly in front of him

while on the potty and there is virtually NO smell, even when the stool

was very loose. Amazing. I find it fascinating that is seeing

that same thing.
