I have received a request from an agency not associated with this list

concerning the handling of automatic fire alarm calls. Currently, the

majority of the alarms in their county are connected directly to the

municipal fire dispatch center. There are few, if any privately operated

central stations. A monthly fee is charged by the PSAP for the provision of

monitoring services. They are curious as to how other agencies are handling

this, what state/local regulations are in your area, and if you have made any

recent changes in your philosophy in the handling of automatic alarms. If you

could provide contact information, as well, I'm sure they'd greatly

appreciate it.
