Guest guest
Dear Elaine, We are way behind on our e-mails as usual but wanted to let you know that our five year old CHARGER is experiencing somewhat of the same symptoms as your little one. Abby has had mucous in her stools that was an unusual color. Her pediatrician tested the mucous and sure enough it was blood. We visited Abby's general surgeon and her GI doctor. X-rays showed she is full of stool and her colon is enlarged. We have done suppositories and must give her two doses of duphalac (lactulose) 15cc and 4oz of prune juice per day. Abby is on Isomil only by G-tube and takes no food orally. We have to do the above for two months and then return to her GI doctor. Her GI doctor wants her to have two stools per day and unfortunately that is not happening yet. Her doctors feel that a hard piece of stool irritated the lining of her intestines/colon and that is the reason for the bloody discharge. Good luck and I hope your situation improves. By the way we live in land. When are you visiting your relatives? Appell Aberdeen, land
Guest guest
Elaine, I don't think I mentioned this before, but if I did I'm sorry. KK not to long ago had a problem with diarrhea. She was just on a antibiotic for an ear infection. Well the medicine gave her diarrhea. When you stop taking it , it should go away. Well her's didn't. So they too did a stool check. Found out that, that medicine causes mites and that causes diarrhea. Can even get worse if not treated. See if you can have them check for that. Then if it is, all he has to do is take another kind of antibiotic to kill off the mites and that will do the trick. Good luck with that. Hope you hear back soon.
