Guest guest
>It is therefore imperative callers identify where they are before they say anything else to the 9-1-1 operator. This should include an address and/or any nearby landmarks to help speed assistance to them.< A tip for agencies starting the 911 cell phones for domestic violence abuse victims programs. I work for a State Police agency, and we receive the 911 cell calls... These cell calls come from three states and include many city jurisdictions... The city in which our post is located recently started this type of program... When we receive a cell call within the city limits, we transfer the call directly to their central dispatch... When the violence victims are issued the phone they are coached to advise immediately what city they are in... and then go ahead with the pertinent information... If they do this it saves valuable time in getting the call to the correct agency.... This is a great program in many ways but until the PSAPS have the technology to receive and address cell calls... I can see some problems. Weintraut
