Guest guest
The odd thing is that it is a good thing this happened. From checking everything they found an ear infection, ruptured ear drum and an " odd " EKG response. This led to ambulance transfers to a new hosp etc etc and the detection of a " minor " heart problem. He has a moderate hole in the divider between the upper chambers (I'm sorry I'm running on an hour sleep here so I don't remember the name of it) In another post you said that he had an echo when he was born that showed that everything was normal. Hi Auntie ! The name of the defect between the atria that you are describing is an ASD (atrial septal defect). Our son had an ASD and a VSD that were surgically corrected when he was 3 weeks old. The first cardiologist had a very different interpretation of his echo than when we took him to Univ of Mich and had another cardiologist and cardiovascular surgeon look at the same tapes. Is it possible that the interpretation rather than the presence of absence of a hole is changing? Cheryl, , (5), (3, CHaRGE) MI
