Guest guest
THE thing that led us to look into biomed was information I was reading on an apraxia website - b4 we had our autism diagnosis. A lot of the families were reporting speech success with using EFAs (essential fatty acids) - everyone was talking about the mix that worked for them (DHA vs. EPA, etc.) We tried it - no speech, but finally after 3 years my boy was signing... Then one of the moms is a researcher and stumbled across vitamin E helping with speech. We added 200iu a day - 2 weeks later my 5 and a half year old son was saying " moo " and " baa " in response to questions. It made us understand that there was a physical need his body had and if we could meet it - we could help him. Which led us to DAN!. So I don't know anything about GABA but if you want my opinion about what is necessary for speech - for my son it was EFAs and vitamin E. BEst, best, best of luck. > > I was reading about the calming > neurotransmitter GABA being > essential for speech............ > Just wondering if anyone thinks > GABA has helped their childs > speech? >
Guest guest
-In our case GABA did help our son with speech at the very beginning, but later on stop helping. With gaba , as well with other aminoacids you have to play around the dosis. GABA should not be given in more than 500 mg a day. Not necessarily is needed daily, when the child does not need too much Gaba he become very sleepy. This is why we use it for helping him sleep at night. If you read Yasko protocol you can lear about the importance to balance gaba and glutamate. My son really benefited from this, was a turning point in improving his cognition. So I guess in my experience it does help, but you have to play with the dosis and amounts constantly. We have been using OMegas and vitamin E for speech, worked at the beginning, mainly when we detected that our son has a carnitine deficiency, after being treated he absorbed his EFAS much better and it improved not only his communication but his attention as sensory as well. BH4 can be another posible help for improving speech. DMG is knowing how to provide it, separate it totally from MB!2, can help as well. BUt recently doing chelation through O.S.R, it has beeen definitely a very good improvement for speech articulation and communication. - In mb12 valtrex , " Dana Read " wrote: > > GABA has helped us w/calming along with Taurine, Theanine, Cal/Mag but not > at all with speech. > GABA and SPEECH > > > > > >I was reading about the calming > > >neurotransmitter GABA being > > >essential for speech............ > > >Just wondering if anyone thinks > > >GABA has helped their childs > > >speech? > > > > > >
Guest guest
How long have you been doing OSR? We're considering it. You are seeing good language gains? Any social gains? Thanks! Ali
Guest guest
--We have been doing OSR for almost three weeks now. Starting very slow as well not giving him the full 1/8 amount, because every time I increased to the full 1/8 he detoxes too quick. But this is because I have a very sensitive child. It has been a good experience so far. His spontaneous communication increased, better comprehension and the most important: better speech articulation. I feel that we are just starting because I haven't been able to give him the full doses, but the gains are clear and so far are consistent. His lab tests showed that he has moderate mercury and it wiped already the arsenic.I have a friend that was giving it to her child before I did, noticed a huge increase in his speech, I witness it as well, this is why I immediately ordered the OSR. But she says that it created major yeast at the same time ,probably because she started it straight to the maximum doses and that was her advise, to start it slow. I just recently talked to her and she said that the OSR cleared a lot of metals from her son's system, but she had some complicated detox episodes at a certain time. So far she is also very happy with the gains. In mb12 valtrex , Alison Hoffman wrote: > > How long have you been doing OSR? We're considering it. You are seeing good language gains? Guest guest
She noticed a change in him almost immediately. Instead of throwing a fit like he normally would about certain things, he became very easy going and cooperative. She says that he came in from outside and went up to his room. He proceeded to tell her that he was " bored " and didn't want to play outside anymore and said like a whole paragraph. My friend was so dumbfounded that she gave him one of his big Christmas presents early. She told me some other things he did and said that blew me away. Her DAN is very reputable. Apparently many ASD kids are low in GABA which causes anxiety-type issues. I just bought some today and am going to give it a try. My friend is doing 250 mg/2x per day and will later up the dosage. > > > > > > > > > > GABA did not help at all. Waste of money. Guest guest
I added 5HTP to the mix to help with the anxiety issues, that some kids get with GABA!!! 25 mg twice a day is a good dose of 5HTP... Has done wonders for our kids!!! Love, Gabby. :0) http://stemcellforautism.blogspot.com/ "I know of nobody who is purely Autistic or purely neurotypical.
