new to group have a question about Valtrex

Hello, I have a daughter who 9 years old. We started Valtrex about 8 days ago. I first few wasn't any chance. Then something turned on in inside her. She has been crying alot everyday. She has been mean than usual. She making more eye contact. We are on B-12 shots too. Plus supplements. Plus now being on the Valtrex is waking up in the middle of the night. Which she has not did this in along time. Today when I was changing her pull up. I noticed to small read rings on her buttock's. I don't know what to think of this. The only thing that I have ever seen that looks like this is ring worm. is a very healthy child. She hasn't been around any new animals. Our dogs are kept in fence. So they haven't been out. Is this something the Valtrex is pushing out of her system. Should I call my DAN Dr. Should I con't on with Valtrex. It's making her crazy. Thanks Lena

That's what I was thinking. I sent a message to her DAN Dr.

He's pretty good about giving whatever she really needs. We

haven't had a problem with yeast in a long time. What about the

crying non-stop. Waking up in the middle of the night. Hungry like

crazy. is 75 lbs. 4ft tall. With zero fat on her. She is all

muscle. She has been making great gains up until we started the

Valtrex. I am worried I shouldn't have asked the Dr. for it. Lena

Sounds like die off.  This is a good thing and should resolve within a couple weeks.  Rarely, die off can last longer.  Valtrex die off does not feel good.  It's very uncomfortable - my son's die off manifested as hyperactivity, sleeplessness, *whininess*, low grade fever and slight aggression.  And you may be flaring yeast, too as it will increase yeast.I would continue on.  Look into a systemic antifungal.  You'll need it long term, fyi. I think what you are seeing is normal.

My 5 year old son was on 500mg 2 x daily (1000mg) of valtrex, and

200mg daily of Nizoral (a systemic antifungal).

We had spontaneous crying for the first two weeks on valtrex. My boy

woke up in the middle of the night screaming at least once. But, I

don't think it was angry behavior - more discomfort or anxiety. He

also didn't sleep at night for one week (either week two or week

three). By the end of the third week this behavior was gone.

His coordination has improved, and he got a rash on his face at about

day 45.

Yes we have the same problem also, and if we give diflucan twies per the day shall we see the yest flare upp.
