Guest guest
About 3-1-1, you might, and I say might, be able to get your telephone company to actually route this to your publish non-emergency number. I guess it would depend on your system. We had this with our old 9-1-1 system on campus. 845-1111 was the emergency number before they implemented 9-1-1. When 9-1-1 came on board, it was routed to the 845-1111 number. Of course when the county became the Primary PSAP for 9-1-1 calls, this was deleted and we had different lines to receive 9-1-1 calls on. So if 3-1-1 is implemented in your area, you won't necessarily have another line to answer, just a different ways for the callers to contact you on the lines you already have. annette hallmark ahallmark@...
