Dear and/or anyone that can help,

I just read your response regarding diet. We also went from years of

GFCF to SCD diet. I attempted the Body Ecology Diet but only got so

far as doing the coconut kefir for a year. Anyway - SCD has been

going well but recently my son is trying to sneek butter and salt any

chance he gets (we do use butter for cooking). He also will eat and

eat and eat and eat. His school has told me they do not think he is

getting enough food. They want me to allow him more carbs like

popcorn, gfcf chips or crackers. After working so hard on the SCD

for just over a year now- I am depressed to add in this stuff. Any

suggestions on foods that you think might fill him up w/out resorting

back to the GFCF diet? He is great about eating cooked veggies and

proteins (chicken, turkey, buffalo meat, burgers, eggs, nut/zucchini

muffins)........thanks in advance for any help....

Lastly- I will mention we are only 2 weeks into TCM and so far we

have been seeing subtle gains in language and play..but the stimming

is up recently quite a bit......I've also pulled all supplements

since starting TCM.....and just found out our SLP was using regular

playdoh since the beginning of the school year (argh!)....so I don't

know what to attribute the stimming too..

Sneak fats in wherever you can (ghee, coconut oil, etc), in cooking, dips, nut butters, etc. Add starchy veggies like butternut squash. If he can tolerate it, avacado is also very filling. Make smoothies to drink in between and w/meals.

You could try adding some neocate Jr. to his diet. It has carbs, but

the protiens are broken down. It has all the nutrients kids need. My

sons have been on an exclusive neocate diet. got great die off

on it that he couldn't on SCD. Just be careful, although bacteria

don't like it, yeast does.
