Guest guest
it's a good idea to have one...especially if you want to rule out any seizure activity deep inside the brain. Dr. Neubrander is big on these. He offers them, but you have to pay out of pocket for it and for it to be read. I've been looking in to having one done for my son as well. Let me know how it goes if you get one done. karen > > A Q-EEG was recommended by our DAN. It's a type of EEG with very extensive(and expensive) > brain mapping. Guest guest
-- Thanks for the reply . I already know my son has abnormal EEGs. We've had 4. He was on different meds now he's off them and doing fine. I'm just not sure what these QEEG could offer us. It's $5,000 for the whole thing. Neubrander is our DAN. Just wondering how it could be beneficial to us. - In mb12 valtrex , " kbelmquist " wrote: > > it's a good idea to have one...especially if you want to rule out any > seizure activity deep inside the brain. > > Dr. Neubrander is big on these. Guest guest
.....I'm in the UK. I had a QEEG done on my daughter over here. I went to see a specialist in neurofeedback and she did it as a precursor to starting a course of neurofeedback. I'd never heard of brain mapping before. Maybe yours will be different though - I'm staggered at the cost you've been quoted. Mine was £250. Our results were sent to a Russian specialist in neurofeedback (Dr Yuri Kroptotov). I expected it all to be a routine check, but he came back advising my daughter should see a neurologist as he'd identified some abnormal activity. Perhaps you could research doing a QEEG through a neurofeedback specialist in the US? It might be a lot cheaper.... -------- Original Message -------- *From:* " afaust36 " *To:* mb12 valtrex *Date:* Fri, 12 Dec 2008 15:44:45 -0000 -- Thanks for the reply . Guest guest
Yes, I did it. Also I have done the brain mapping called BEAM with Dr. Rodney Soto in Destin, FL USA. He was able to detect GABA deficit, so we started my son on GABA and his anger and aggression has subsided. This doctor is ahead of his time. I recommend him highly.Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: " Nicolle" Date: Sat, 13 Dec 2008 02:21 +0000 (GMT Standard Time)To: <mb12 valtrex >Subject: Re: Re: QEEG- has anyone done this? ....I'm in the UK.
