You can have your child do the spit test. It's better than nothing.

Have child spit into a clear glass of fresh water. Then watch what

happens. Here's a link with instructions:

Things to look for: red cheeks, red ears, puffy red fingers between

the nail bed and first knuckle, diaper rash with satellite red

eruptions, rash that settles in the skin folds, peeling skin on hands

and feet/athlete's foot, tiny bumps under the skin, especially on the

face, back, and legs. Toe walking, uncontrollable laughter. Food

cravings: especially anything sweet, breads, anything containing

yeast, anything fermented. Cravings for pickles, pickle juice,

grapes, ketchup, vinegar/salad dressings, sharp cheddar cheese.

Also, excess production of mucous, mucous in the stools, constipation

and/or diarrhea, white-coated tongue, yeasty smell from the ears.

If your child has had infections and been treated with anitbiotics,

it's a pretty safe bet he/she has at least some yeast overgrowth,

which may or may not show up on lab tests. We have recently seen

that several of our kids test negatively for candida antibodies on

bloodtest, only to come back sky high with yeast metabolites in urine

and also positive stool samples. What this means, it seems, is that

the yeast is there but their bodies are not fighting it. This does

seem to back up the hypothesis of a symbiotic relationship between

the viral infections and yeast, where the virus keeps the yeast in

check and vice-versa(?). THe kids who are coming back serum negative

for yeast antibodies in the presence of yeast in urine and stool are

also the ones with high viral titers (HHV-6, EBV, & MV), and

autoantibodies to brain tissue. This also makes sense as to why in

the past we have had children treated for yeast, and not treated for

viruses, who had such horrible " die-off " reactions - I suspect it's

because the decrease in yeast gave the viruses a chance to

proliferate and some of the " die-off " was actually the symptoms of

the virus (achy, flu-like, etc...).

Hmmmmnnn.....

Hope this helps!

How do you know if your child has excessive yeast? We have no DAN, so is there a test you take or any help you can give me? Are there symptoms to look for? My dd cannot stop moving and I have heard this is a symptom. Thanks for all of your experienced help!

My one son has major problems with yeast. He use to scoot his butt across the floor like dogs do when their anul glands get clogged. So sad to watch.

My maiden name was Dailey.

Hi Marci,

Yes to about 90% of the symptoms you listed. We have aggressively

treated the yeast for 12 months. There was some heal walking, but

never toe walking. A few days ago, my wife saw the heal walking

(first time in about 8 months), and commented that at least he is not

toe walking. Surely enough, he started toe walking....<sigh>

After 6 months with treatments including Diflucan, Nizoral, two sets

of 40 hours of hard chamber hyperbaric treatments, we started Valtrex.

The yeast die-off included frothy poops, insomnia, and other very

yeasty behaviors that we had not seen in 6 or more months.

There was also this new middle of the night screaming, which was not

exactly a night terror, as he was aware of his surroundings.

Things went back to normal during the third week on Valtrex. The most

significant gain was with hand eye coordination - tracking a ball, for

instance.

Interesting point. Medicine is truly an art.

According to a DAN! doc I met at the hyperbaric clinic where my son

has been treated, a stuff nose can be caused by yeast.

My child constantly had mucous in his nose until the first set of 40

hours of hbot. Of course, it's possible this was also viral

on that note I had constant sinus problems, even had a sinusectomy in May then clogged right back up. I'm on day 7 of colonix which treats parasite and yeast etc - OMG I can feel the stuff draining out of the nose and sinuses every day almost all day. I can breathe out of both sides of my nose. I'm definitely a believer in colonix and I haven't even finished the first 30 days yet or had those major milestones "elsewhere" yet. sorry if its TMI. no I dont have any affiliation with colonix other than I bought their stuff to give it a try.

We've done GSE, Biotin, lysine, prescriptions, etc but nothing like this has happened with any of that stuff, before doing the Colonix. Whatever works for your candida/parasites, once you figure out which product will work, then yes I think it will help clear up the sinuses.

For our son, excessive yeast meant excessive laughing - at most

times without reason and hyperactivity
