Guest guest
I would think if the rash on his shoulders does not go away within a reasonable timeframe (2 weeks tops?) then it's not die-off but a reaction to something. My kids have phenol issues and could get a rash just about anywhere from highly phenolic foods. Kids usually are hungrier on SCD because of the removal of starchy carbs, at least mine are. Adding fats (avacado, oils, nut butters, etc.) can help. Urinating more than usual can mean a lot of things, not all necessarily bad. Is he eating more fruits now that he is SCD? My youngest eats a significant amount of pear and drinks a lot of water. He is very active and runs around and jumps A LOT, so I attribute all of the water drinking (and hence peeing) to that. We've had his blood sugar, liver, etc. tested and he doesn't have any of the problems associated w/frequent urination, just a thirsty kid replenishing his fluids. Pooping 3x/day is not a bad thing. Diahrea could be die-off, but again, not if it never ends. -----Original Message-----From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ]On Behalf Of car.stefSent: Thursday, December 11, 2008 10:43 AMTo: mb12 valtrex Subject: Any thoughts? After my son's second OAT we determined he has a leaky gut. My DAN recommended the SCD – IGG foods which is already on, plus glutamine, glycine, s.boulardi, CLO and Ultra Flora Plus Dairy Free, Metagenics, Probiotics. Since we've started we notice that he has been pooping 3 times a day with gas, sometimes diarrhea, urinating more then usual and got a rash on his shoulders. The DAN said this is die off but could it be a reaction to a supplement? His in good spirits but he has started biting us again! He is still eating and is hungrier then usual…..Any thoughts?
