Guest guest
Hi Sis, Okay, I will try and give you the reader's digest version. Made the worst decision of my life in May 2002 (decided to get the implants). Was implanted with Mentor Saline anatomical by a NYC surgeon. Prior to getting implants I was THE vision of health. I was in the best shape of my life as I had been lifting weights at the gym and running 16 to 20 miles per week. I had no weight problems, my hair was long and thick, my nails were strong and healthy and so was my skin. The surgery was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. But, for the first 3 to 4 months I was in my glory.... the boobs looked great. Then Sept. of 2002 I suddenly packed on about 20lbs. My hair was falling out all over the place. My nails began to peel and crack off. I developed severe acne. My whole body filled up with this mysterious fluid (water retention). The water retention was so bad that I was barely recognizable. Then I developed very very stiff and painful muscles and joints. I was unable to grip a pen, I could barely get out of bed due to the pain. I literally struggled to walk up and down the steps in my house. At first I just attributed this all to working out alittle harder.... but realizing that I had not worked out any harder and infact, I began forcing myself to do the workouts that came so easily to me for 13 years. I became so weak after the workouts that I went straight to bed after them. I became a non- sexual being if ya know what I mean. I felt I had to do something right away.... so the first phone call I made was to my implanting PS. I asked him if it could possibly be the implants that did this to me. He said, no, NO WAY.... you have the safe saline. So, with that I did research on the internet regarding my symptoms. I kept coming across thyroid disorders. So, went to primary care guy and got tested. Thyroid tests came out beautiful normal. Did more research and found out that it is possible to have normal tests and still have thyroid disorder..... so, found another guy who would give me a trial of armour thyroid. He did just that even though he ran MORE thyroid tests and I was even more normal on those tests. The thyroid hormone never relieved all of my symptoms except when we added cytomel (t3) that was the only thing that did take away the pain.... only to a point. I went on like this suffering for almost three years and being on an ASTRONOMICAL amount of thyroid meds in attempt to have symptom relief. My highest dose went to 6 grains armour and 25 mcg cytomel at one point. So, I was forced to face the music. I did some research on implants. I came across this site. I found all of these women with these same problems and shockingly even worse problems. I knew in my heart that I was well before I made the fateful decision and I knew that I had to get the things out fast. I explanted with Dr. Feng (love her!) in April of 2005. Immediately and I mean immediately all of the pain in my body was gone. I was no longer stiff. The strange bloat that made my face the size of a freakin' basketball (no I'm no kidding) immediately ceased. A month later my body rejected all of that thyroid med and I had to reduce it to 1/5th the amount I was on. At one point I had stopped it completely but I had to add back a small amount soon after because I started having subtle hypothyroid symptoms. Just recently my nails are starting to grow back like normal which indicates to me that maybe I'm on the right track and my hair will eventually catch up. It's been falling out like mad and I'm afraid I'll go bald. Hopefully all of this loss is just my body readjusting after all it's been through. Wishful thinking.. but possible. Right now I get periods of dizziness, low blood pressure and fatigue at times. It gets really bad when I endure stress... which makes me think I could have a little adrenal issue going on.... that's why I had the tests done by the endocrinologist. And truthfully, I don't even trust the way this endo is even interpreting the tests because after all... she is an endo and if you don't fit into their guidelines... your fine. Could be the beginning stages of adrenal fatigue. So, that's it. Would you be willing to share your story, so I'm more familiar with it? I'm still suffering from symptoms, but it's only been a little more than 2 months. This year has been such a nightmare.Sis> > >> > > There must be some autoimmune link with the> > bladder/kidneys. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, and welcome back, Wow, 6 grains of armour! That is incredible. I have a verified thyroid disorder and the most I think I have taken at one time is 2 grains! I am sorry you are still dealing with these mysterious symptoms. I see that you were explanted not quite a year ago, so perhaps you just need more time to detox and get better. Unfortunately, I found that detoxing had to become a way of life for me, doing things every so often to cleanse internally. It sounds like that is what you are experiencing too. It does sound like it could be adrenal fatigue that you are dealing with. Our endocrine system is so delicate. Toxic exposures can wreak such havoc with that fragile balance system going on in our bodies. I hope your doctor is astute enough to figure it out for you, but I can understand your skepticism too. Mine endo was supposed to be top notch, but I was less than impressed as well. We can be feeling like total crap, and they look at those test results, and say, " You're doing great! " Yeah, right. Anyway, thanks for that reader's digest version....it helps to bring it all into perspective. It always helps us to see the bigger picture of our healing process when we can look back over a period of time. It's just a slow process, and takes a bit of work. But I believe there are answers. Thanks for sharing, and be sure to keep us updated! Guest guest
Hi Patty, I wonder if once the body is poisoned with implants, or other toxins strong enough to cause similar problems, if detoxing is always necessary. Personally, I don't know what caused all of my health issues, all I can come up with is pneumonia caused from scrubbing floors with straight ammonia. 19 years ago. My fibro symptoms and cluster of other problems happened within a year from that date. It was bad enough to cause lung scarring. Anyway, as you know, I have to eat right and detox, like Rogene, to stay healthy. I wonder if our systems are permanently injured somehow but detoxing can keep us going. Just a thought. Guest guest
I hope you feel better soon, Dawn. You have been through so much already. I take an adrenal supplement by the name of Isocort that might help you. I don't know if you're up for trying supplements without a doctor prescribing them, but it has worked wonders for me. The only problem with it is if your liver isn't working up to par, you may not clear it out of your system and may be wired from it. At one point I was so toxic that I couldn't handle 1/2 tablet, but now happily take 7 or 8 teeny tablets per day. It's an adrenal supplement, similar to thyroid meds for the thyroid. It doesn't help the adrenals work, it fills in the gap when they are under working. Not ideal for those who want to feed their body to help it function naturally, but that route doesn't work for some of us. It sure didn't for me. Take care, Kenda > Hi Sis, > Okay, I will try and give you the reader's digest version. > Made the worst decision of my life in May 2002 (decided to get the implants). > Was implanted with Mentor Saline anatomical by a NYC surgeon. Guest guest
Kenda, That is what I believe as well. I have to walk that same balance beam that Rogene does, although I can push myself pretty far and cheat on my diet regularly. But I always have to go back to doing coffee enemas, fasting and taking supplements (which I cycle). I think exercise is also very important. I don't know if it is a case of permanent damage to organs, hormonal systems, or depleted enzymes, or what, but I do think that there is some component of permanent damage or alteration in our bodies that forces us to adjust our lifestyles for the long term, including regular detoxing to assist the liver. Interesting that you are going through the same things we are! Very eye opening Kenda, thank you! Guest guest
Patty, The similarities are very strange indeed! It gives me a very clear idea of where I would have been had I been implanted. Scary as hell! The docs then could have told me that I simply relapsed and washed their hands of me.
