Guest guest
Hi and welcome to our group! I am so sorry that you are experiencing all these horrible things that we have gone through. You're with sisters now, and it is a terrible thing that you have to be here, but we are hopeful that we can be a source of comfort to you as you go through this painful period. I am glad to hear that you are already set up to see Dr. KOlb in Atlanta. She will be able to help you as she understands this illness very well. You've got some nasty implants...those foam covered ones were probably some of the worst ever made...but I don't have to tell you that. You've experienced it for yourself. I am so sorry! I will be relieved when you get those things out too. If we can do anything here, I think we can give you hope of some measure of healing. So many of us have healed since going through explant. It is, of course, a long journey and many times not a very fun one as the progress can be painfully slow, and some of the therapies a bit challenging. But we've had many successes of women getting their implants out, going through different phases of detoxification, and seeing gradual improvements that eventually resulted in complete recovery. It can be done. Again, thanks for sharing and welcome to our group! Let us know how we can help you whenever you are in need. Guest guest
Hi and welcome to our group. I am so glad that you have determined those implants need to come out. And your chiropractor sounds like he has been very helpful to you as well as supportive. Your ps should be able to determine if it is safe for you to have surgery. Just from your description of your symptoms, I think the only true concern is the idiopathic anaphylaxis as far as surgery is concerned. Do you get that often? How severe is it? Hopefully it is controllable and wouldn't deter a surgery. Those implants do need to come out ....they are really messing with your body. I think you will find that getting better will really take off once that junk is out of your body! Many people here have been happy with Dr.Kolb and she certainly knows that implants make women sick. Please let us know how your appointment goes. I said a prayer for you! Love, Kathy > > Hello, I'm 44 yrs old had foam covered implants saline filled(in > front of muscle) since 1988. Guest guest
Hi - so glad you posted and shared with us. It's great that you felt comfortable enough to share. You've taken the first big step toward getting well - the decision to explant. I had implants in 1997, and really began to get sick in 2000. I just had them removed in October, and have had more good days than bad since - though a long way from a picture of health, that's for sure. The women here have a lot more experience than I do, but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. Hugs, Cherie > > Hello, I'm 44 yrs old had foam covered implants saline filled(in > front of muscle) since 1988. To make it a short beginning... I have > a appt. with Dr. Kolb next week. Guest guest
Welcome BlueJayBliss, I am also new to this group. I just found it last weekend. I cant write much because my hands are freezing up and my kids lost my mic for my speaking program. I just wanted to let your know you will learn lots from reading everyone's posts. I know I am. I am so glad God led me to these knowledgable ladies, they are all angels. bluejaybliss <bluejaybliss@...> wrote: Hello, I'm 44 yrs old had foam covered implants saline filled(in front of muscle) since 1988. I'm sure. My main thing I'm concerned about is I weigh now 250. Will this prevent my explantation from taking place? At this point in my life I just want to have life, you know. I thank God I have NOT developed, Diabetes, High Blood pressure, or actual heart disease. If I don't explant I know those diseases are getting ready to set up home in my system. I have done so much research this last year and the Lord has gave me enough strength thru Chiropractic care 2/wk for the last yr and half. I'm at least strong enough to take the trip to Atlanta. I've been detoxing off and on for the last yr. But, I feel like my chiro does, get rid of the source causing the problem so I can have at least 5-6 days a wk. good. and the detox and flush will actually help me. Thanks for letting me unload, This is my first time joing in on a forum. God Bless. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi Bluejay . . . Welcome to the group. You're in the right place! Dr. Kolb will do an excellent job for you! . . . Something I'm wondering about though . . . I don't remember the years that polyurethane (foam) implants were on the market. I thought it was earlier than 1988 though. Is it possible that your implants are " textured " rather than foam? Textured implants have a rough surface - presumably to prevent encapsulation. However, bits of silicone break off - and the surface area of texture is much larger than that of smooth implants. . . Think of the area of a flat piece of land, vs. that of mountains. This allows for more silicone exposure as well. II hope yours were textured though . . . the foam implants really were the worst. The foam gradually decomposed and distributed chemicals throughout the body. If they are foam, you will need to get really serious about detoxing so you can remove as many toxins as possible, as quickly as possible. Dr. Kolb is outstanding when it comes to treating the whole body, not just the breasts! . . . Ask her what she recommends AND check our archives for detox methods we've tried. If you have any questions, ask away. . . Hopefully we can save you a lot of trial and error. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
