Someone on mentioned how hard it is to

stick to a healthy diet because they had kids who like

sweets. . .

Over the holidays I met a lady who works at a private

school in Dallas where the owner decided to educate

their families on nutrition and serve only healthy

foods to the kids (18 mos. - third grade). They've

noticed a huge difference in the demeanor of the

children. Much calmer, less fussing, less fighting,

more concentration. The students' performance levels

are passing all expectations.

They know the families are not following diet

recommendations 100%, but it's obvious from what the

children say that the families are becoming more

conscious of healthy eating and the entire family is

benefiting.

One thing she said they found interesting is that the

cost of providing healthy foods is not any more than

that of eating junk. . . However, it does take more

time!

I do think my kids are learning from my eating habits, and I've

managed to change about half of their ways. I just wish they could

see a healthier me for my efforts. That might make them want to do

it more. Instead they see me eating healthy and feeling very ill.

Patience and more patience, right? I just hugged my 9-year-old

daughter and told her to never do what I did - she's beautiful just

the way she is.

Thanks,

Cherie

Cherie,

I really hope that I can assist my own daughter, who is 14, through

these turbulent teenage years and through all the peer pressure and

cultural pressure she is bound to endure regarding breast size. I

have prayed so hard that she would not go through the same difficult

emotional hardships I felt being smaller chested, and that she would

be confident in who she is because of how God sees her, which is

perfect! I know teenage girls that have perfect bodies, and it

makes me absolutely cringe when I hear them say they want breast

implants! It makes me almost panic for them! When you are young and

insecure about yourself, it is easy to start comparing and wishing,

and right now, the procedure of getting breast implants seems about

as easy to do as going to a salon and getting your hair colored.

It's treated so lightly.

My daughter will know all about my breast implant experience and so

will my sons so that they can understand just how dangerous breast

implants really are, and how tragic it is when women and children

get sick. I hope they will see clearly it just is not worth it!

Hugs,

Patty
