Guest guest
Hi Kim, it takes a while for some of the symptoms to subside. I'm about 2 months post-op and some symptoms have gone away, but not all of them. I'm still suffering from a number of symptoms, but they come and go now (and stress brings them on). Seems like fatigue is something I'm having a hard time shaking, and my joints swell. Before I had the expalnt surgery, it seemed like everything was getting worse all the time, and new symptoms were popping up every couple of weeks. I can't say how your own progress will be, I'm still on the mend, but give it time and don't expect things to clear up immediately. If they do, that's a bonus, but our bodies have been through a trauma and it takes many of us a while to heal. Just drink your water and take good care of yourself, and have faith. Guest guest
Kim, It's way, way too soon to know if all your symptoms will go away. There's a very good chance they will though! . . . Stressing over them won't help. If you can just accept those you have as temporary and look forward to a better day, you will actually heal more quickly. Stress is a killer! Guest guest
Probably not. It can take some time for all symptoms to resolve-- anywhere from weeks to years. Also, it is not unusual for symptoms to leave and come back and then to finally leave for good. You will probably need to do some detoxing and cleanses. We have much information on this site about ways to detox and to support your immune system. It sounds like you are doing great so far! You should be very encouraged! Congratulations on your explant. Guest guest
This should go away in time. I think many of us have suffered through bouts of numbness, tingling, and twitching. There is no way to tell how long it will take to go away though. We've had members who suffered with it a long time (Beth L comes to mind) and others who have never had it. Let me tell you about my experience. I had the intermittent numbness and tingling when I first got sick. It was never chronic or anything, just an annoyance every now and then. After explant, suddenly I got lots more twitching. I've mentioned several times that after that 6 week " honeymoon period " following explant, sometimes women see more symptoms...well, for me, that was the twitching that hit in a bigger way. It drove me mad. That was followed by the cold crawly feeling up my leg. Those two symptoms gradually went away over a period of a couple years after explant. Except for this one scary episode, which happened out of the blue. One morning I woke up to go to the bathroom and felt a log on the bed. I realized after not being able to rise myself up from the mattress that the log was my arm! It was totally dead to any feeling whatsoever, and I couldn't move it. I totally freaked out! I started beating it cuz I was scared. I think it took several minutes of panic and constant slapping, but it finally started tingling again and eventually the feeling came back. I never had anything like that happen before in my life, and never again since then. The strange feelings of twitching, creeping coldness and numbness gradually faded away completely to the point that I never get them anymore at all. It took a couple of years, but it's gone!
