Guest guest
Cosima, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother-in-law, and I wish you and your husband well. I know this is a very difficult thing to have to go through, especially since you've been fighting your own health battles. As for the incisions, my sports bra bothered my incisions for a couple of weeks - mine had clasps, so I would undo some of them to loosen it up. My doctor told me to wear my sports bra for two weeks, and when I returned to my regular bra's they made my incisions hurt too, so I'd loosen up the back. I think Dr. Kolb recommends a longer period of wearing the sports bra, so maybe you can get a larger one that might be more comfortable? Guest guest
Cosima, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law! Maybe she can benefit from some of the medications they're coming out with. Some time ago, I ran across some research done on a group of Alzheimer's patients using large doses of Lecthin (available OTC) . . . It appeared to stop the progression, or at least slow it down, for Alzheimers patients. Since your incisions look normal, I suspect that the stress you're under right now is making them feel worse. Please try to relax! . . . Have you every tried meditation? It can produce amazing results! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
sis, why do some doctors say to wear the sports bras longer than others do? does it really make all that difference? maybe like rogene explained the snugness helps the scar tissue that forms after surgery to act like glue so that the gaps where the implants were will close up and not leave loose skin and muscle. if so, i guess i'll just put up with the bras rubbing on my incisions. they feel a little better today. i had cleaned house some too on friday and that might explain it some too.plus i haven't gotten much rest since learning about my mother-in-law. > > > > hey all, > > > > i have a question. my explant surgery was 2 wks ago this past > > thursday. dr. kolb told me at my follow up appt.on the 5th that if > i > > had any burning in my chest that i'd need to take an antibiotic as > > that would indicate an infection. well i don't think i have any of > > that but i've noticed that my incisons are still rather sore and > do > > burn and tingle a bit.i was thinking that the sports bras i've > veen > > wearing might be irritiating them since they are quite snug but > > comfortable.my memory is so bad i can't remember if my incisions > have > > been this sore since surgery or if they were getting better then > > seemed more sore the last couple of days. i want to say that they > > have gotten more sore over the last couple of days. i've been > using > > the peroxide and ointment just like i'm supposed to. the incisions > > don't look unusually red or otherwise any different than they have > > been. they look like they're healing okay so maybe it's nothing > but > > they sure have gotten more uncomfortable the last few days.is this > > normal? i had been a little ill with some kind of bug going around > > and my joints have now gotten more achy again too. maybe stress is > > making it seem worse. we just found out last week that my > husband's > > mother has been diagnosed with alzheimer's disease and we're both > > close to her so it has left us rather sad.i sure don't want to > have > > to take antibiotics again. > > >
Guest guest
Cosima, I guess the doctors make their recommendations based on the results they see in their patients - it does seem they all have a different opinion about certain things. I'd just do whatever your own doctor recommends. It took me about a month before the incisions felt ok with a bra on.
