Guest guest
, You can experience anxiety at any time. . . Especially when everything goes quiet and all you have to think about is your own problems! I'm speaking for myself too! . . . It takes some positive self talk and practicing relaxation techniques to bring under control. For instance. . . When you lay down, close your eyes and take very deep breaths. Slowly inhale for the count of five. Hold your breath for the count of five, then slowly exhale for the count of ten. Try to inhale as much air as your lungs will hold, then push as much air out as you possibly can. After you get this pattern going, start with your toes, tell them to relax, feel them relaxed, then work your way up your entire body, consciously feeling everything relax. This should lead to a very comfortable, very relaxed feeling. Then visualize yourself somewhere beautiful, feel the breeze, the warmth, the softness, the freedom. . . whatever you want to experience! . . . Then start giving your body postive commands . . . tell yourself whatever you want your body to do, or to be. Feel how you would feel that way, see yourself that way, and hear how you sound when you achieve your goals. If you'll spend as little as 15 minutes a day doing this, you should begin to see your body respond positively. It's really a fun experience that can go a long way to reducing anxiety! It gets easier and better with practice too!
