Guest guest
Hi, I have had saline implants since 6/05. I had allergies and mild asthma prior, was on immunotherapy shots and no medications for either at the time. I have a history of psoriasis and Raynaud's disease (autoimmune disorders), but they have been pretty much non- issues in my life as I live in Florida. I don't even think I put this info on the plastic surgeon's intake form, which was definitely my mistake. Although I had not had a panic attack in 15 years, I started getting them immediately after surgery, necessitating a need to see a psychiatrist. I should mention that 2005 was an extremely stressful year. I watched my Dad die, my mother has contracted terminal cancer, and my husband was hospitalized once again for a heart condition. I was a light smoker and I drank, but I have quit those and have changed my diet to eliminate sugar, caffeine, and wheat. Besides the panic attacks, I have had a definite increase in the amount of respiratory infections. This last one, which has now abated, has somehow re-activtated my asthma. For the first time, I need a nebulizer and a variety of medications to try to control it. I have been suffering for 6 weeks and am not sure I'll be able to work. As I work in a school with young kids, I'm exposed to all sorts of illnesses, and I seem to catch everything. My husband is adamant that the implants have nothing to do with my suffering, that it is all stress related. He gets very defensive when either myself, close friends or family suggest I have them removed. Perhaps he is right, but I'd appreciate any advice. Common sense tells me these implants are foreign objects, and in people who are prone to sensitive or depressed immune response, they could cause a problem. I'm only sorry I did not think about my other health problems when I consulted with the plastic surgeon. Thanks for your help.
