Guest guest
Hi all! Here is my story. For one year I have been dealing with unexplained pain, numbness, and weakness in all my extremeties. I have chronic fatigue, and have recently started experiencing very dry eyes. I have been seeing many doctors and all my test turn out normal. I even had one neurologist say that I needed to see a shrink. I used to be a full time nursing student and worked part-time as a nursing assistant. Now I have a handicap parking permit. I know this isn't in my head. I am a busy mother of five. Now, I cannot even keep up with any of them. I even have a speaking program just to type on my computer without pain. I have been seeing a Kinesiologist and with herbs and diet changes, I have seen only an increase in energy and some strength in my legs. I went to a family event and couldn't even hold my cousin's new baby without pain in my shoulder. I still have my implants, they have been in for 5 years. My husband and I are in the process of finding out if my implants are the root cause to my pain. And if so, a good doctor to take them out. It would be nice to hear from any of you. Guest guest
Welcome to the group - I am so sorry you are going through such pain. Your story is so familiar to me! I had explant in October after years of doctors and different possibilities for my illness and " fibromyalgia?? " I felt relieved when I found this group to see that I wasn't alone. I found the women in this group to be so helpful and so experienced with just about every aspect of my illness. Overall I am feeling much better - most days I have so much more energy and less pain - but I do still have set backs like, unfortunately right now. I think it will just take time. I'll be praying for you to find the right answers for your health. Cherie > > Hi all! > > Here is my story. Guest guest
I called Dr. Lu-Feng's office today and talked with . She called me back later so my husband could ask questions. She truely believes my symptoms are caused by my implants. She was shocked by the severity of my symptoms. I am only 32 and shouldn't be labled "handicapped". She was hopeful that after an explant surgery that I can get back to work and help my husband pay off all my medical bills. We have been looking at about $1000. per month of un-insured medical bills for the past year. Now, we are looking at another $6,700-$1100 for the explant surgery. It is frustrating that I have lost a year of my life from these things. To be honest, in these five years I have loved my implants for the first 4. I never regreted my decision to get them. However, this past year and what I have lost so far (my job, and school) especially my dream of finishing my Nursing degree, I have 5 years of regret now. I go to the my family doctor tomorrow for help with my eye pain. I cannot sleep and I have to keep putting saline drops in a few times per night. I am going to give him a mouthful. He could have spotted this coming almost a year ago, when I first started having my symptoms. He should have thought about it when I lost my ability to climb stairs. Instead, he just kept "fishing" for everything BUT! I scheduled my surgery with Dr. Feng for February 3. It will be a 7 hour drive, maybe longer if my IC acts up. I am almost as excited for this explant as I was for my implant surgery. Thanks for listening to my rambling. Fote: ,Many of the women who have come to this site have gone to Dr. Lu-Feng for explantation, myself included. Dr. Feng absolutely believes that implants make some women sick, and she will make sure to perform the en bloc procedure, and remove the capsule completely. En bloc means that the implant is removed whole so that the contents do not spill into the body, and she removes the capsule as well because it absorbs chemicals from the implants, and if it's left in your body, it can continue to make you sick. My husband drove me there, it was about a 6 hour drive from New Jersey. Dr. Feng puts drains in, which do not hurt, but are a little bulky, and they have to be changed. It kept me from swelling and I had minimal pain. I stayed in a hotel about 2 miles from Dr. Feng's office, and I stayed until the drains were ready to be removed. Guest guest
Hi , I'm glad that you scheduled your explant. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have them out of my body. I am sure I would have progressively gotten worse if I kept them in, I was deteriorating quickly. Dr. Feng has a wonderful staff. They have seen thousands of women like us, so they have no doubt as to the harm implants can cause. I stayed in Beachwood, which is about two miles from her office. Very nice location. I visited her twice, the first time I stayed at the Hilton, and the second time I stayed at the Hampton. If you need to know anything about either location, please let me know. Guest guest
, I'm so happy you are already making decisions! . . . I had eye problems too . . . Something that helped me get through was an ointment Lacralub (sp?) . .. It comes in a tiny tube. You squeeze a line about 1/4 inch into your eye before bedtime. It will last all night! I just copied a message to the group I sent to Mrs. Leonard with the FDA . . . It has her contact numbers on it. Please take the time to call or write her. . . You may find more personal satisfaction talking to her, but if you write, it becomes a permanent record! I've been sending her messages (without identification) from women who come to the group desperate for help. . . I don't think the FDA has any idea how bad it is! We'll keep praying that you get through this smoothly and can go back to work soon! . . . If you have a lot of time, read through the archives. You'll see woman after woman who has gotten their lives back after being explanted! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
, You've made an excellent choice for your explanting surgeon, so I have every reason to believe that you are going to be well on your way to healing very soon. I can completely identify with your excitement about getting the implants out....I was definitely there too when I was waiting for surgery. The day couldn't come fast enough for me. Just remember that healing from the immune system dysfunction is going to take some time. One of the things I always want to caution women about is not being too anxious about getting well fast. Often it does not happen. Many times there can be what I call a honeymoon period after the explant surgery, where you see a great resolution of alot of symptoms and you feel pretty good. But about 6 weeks post explant, it is not uncommon for women to experience a return of some of those symptoms, and even some new ones. I experienced that. I was very anxious to heal and feel well again, and I think I created alot of stress for myself because I wanted it so bad. I was told by some other women (when I was on Ilena's list) that since I had my saline implants for such a short time that my healing would be pretty quick. NOT! It took me 4 years to really get my health back to a great degree. The last thing I want to do is discourage you...I truly believe you can get better. I just don't want you to be too eager for that to happen, and then be discouraged. Take time to rest, give yourself alot of TLC, take some time to read up on detoxification and learn some new things you can do at home to help healing, and have faith. Good things will happen! You will get your nursing degree someday. Congratulations on your upcoming explant! You are going to be in great hands! Patty > > I called Dr. Lu-Feng's office today and talked with . Guest guest
- I am so happy for you that you have your surgery scheduled already! I agree with dr. Feng about your symptoms being due to the implants. I also suffered dry eyes and that has gone away. MOre importantly, I was developing lots of severe symptoms in a period of weeks. As soon as I found out about this site I scheduled surgery with Dr.Feng. Within a week or two of having my implants out, the weird brain dysfunction, severe dizziness and drunk like feelings left. Within that same time period I was all of a sudden able to shop for the whole day! Before that I would just sit in the dressing room waiting for my daughter to bring in clothes because my heart beat so fast that I didn't want to stand up. I was skipping hundreds of heartbeats a day also. That got better over a period of months. My fibromyalgia symptoms even got alot better even though I had fibromyalgia before I even got implants. I have done alot of detoxing and cleansing and diet changing and also am on antibiotic therapy. All of these things have impacted my health for the better. But I truly believe that without getting explanted, I would have seen little improvement. It is the biggest piece of the puzzle to getting your health back. After explant, many if not most of us have found that many cleansing and detoxing therapies have aided our recovery. Best of luck to you Hugs and best wishes Kathy -- In , Lamse <wannabe_proverbs31@y...> wrote: > > I called Dr. Lu-Feng's office today and talked with .
