Guest guest
i recall somebody (maybe sis) here saying that she didn't have as much pain after explant as she had after implant surgery. i think mine has been about the same as my implant surgery was.in fact, i also had a tummy tuck done at the same time as my first breast implant surgery and i was getting around a week later better than i am right now, my 6th day post-op. i don't feel much better painwise right now than i did the day i came home from the surgery. i still hurt just as much. for one thing, the binder they put on me,the smallest one they had, was still too big for me so they safety pinned it and put in padding to fill it out and make it tight. it's been bugging me the whole time and contributed to the itching, not to mention the stress. i don't think i've had one day of relaxation since i've been home. the tightness of the binder makes me feel like i just can't catch my breath but i'm not turning blue so i guess that means it's okay.i dont understand why i couldn't have just worn the front closing sports bra i bought. it's snug. i don't remember if i was binded right after implant surgery or wore the bra. i go on thursday to get the bandages off and drains out and i feel like a 9 month pregnant woman ready to give birth any time now, waiting for it to all be over with but time seems to slow down when you're miserable.i've not heard anybody else on here mention the drains hurting them.my breasts, what i've felt of them, seem oddly lumpy feeling in places too like swollen glands but harder. is that normal? Guest guest
Hi Cosima, Sorry you've been in pain, mine definitely was alot less than with the implants, but everyone is different. Maybe the bandages are to blame - when I had my implants, I was bound up really tight and it was painful, in fact my armpits were bruised because of it. With explant I told Dr. Feng to wrap the bandages very loosely because it caused pain the first time and made me feel claustrophobic. Glad you're going back to Dr. Kolb tomorrow and you can get them off. Hang in there. I don't know what to say about how your breasts are feeling, Dr. Kolb should be able to assess things tomorrow, though. Guest guest
Cosima, you will feel 100 times better once you are unbound and without the drains. It is very uncomfortable to get throug the first few days, but once you are free to take a deep breath you will see how much the recovery will go faster. Once I was unbound I was ready to go out and do anything I felt so good. of course I didn't, but it sure felt like I could!!
