Guest guest
our boy started on valtrex about 6 days ago (he is 3). our DAN! is having us start at 250mg twice a day and then increase to 3 times a day after a week. after a couple days, he started to develop a red, kinda dry/chapped look on his cheeks, close to his mouth. then he developed a rash at the base of his neck, between his shoulder blades. it all culminated last night when he had a slight increase in seizures, one of his eyes looked like he had been punched, the red, dry area got much worse, he fell asleep early and started sweating out through his head. he's not a great sweater, so this was noticeable to us. today he is back to baseline - even the dry, chapped look is gone. does this sound like he may be a valtrex responder? and, if so, should we continue with our plan to increase to the full dosage in the morning? thanks for any input jennie
