Guest guest
, unfortunately what happened within the past year is that Dr. Feng's office can no longer ship the implants to Dr. Blais. Apparently the shipping company she works with considers them hazardous waste or something like that, and the charge would be more than any of us would want to pay. was able to have hers shipped to Dr. Blais after using Dr. Feng, and that was only a few months prior to my explant and I wasn't able to send them. There was a change in policy or something. Guest guest
Sis, Dr. Blais office said I could ship them myself. They even gave me instructions on how to do it. However, they said they couldn't do a pathology on them. Has something to do with Dr. Feng's office putting them in a solution to kill bacteria. Is Dr. Feng's pathologist enough to give me a good understanding on what it in them? What benefit would it be to send them to Dr. Blais except implant identification? auntsisnj <auntsisnj@...> wrote: , unfortunately what happened within the past year is that Dr. Feng's office can no longer ship the implants to Dr. Blais. Guest guest
They end up in formaldehyde - not sure if Dr. Feng's office puts them in it, or if the lab does, but Dr. Feng's office won't release the implants to the patients because they're in formaldehyde. I just went through this a few months ago and went in circles and finally gave up. It was more important to me to have them out, and she was very qualified to do that, so I wasn't able to send mine to Dr. Blais. Guest guest
, I think I would request Dr. Feng's office not to do anything to them but to put them in a container that is adequate for shipping. Request that they NOT be put in a solution or sterilized, but put directly from your body into a sealed container. When I had my implants sent to pathology, they did a piss-poor job of analyzing them. It was a waste of $200. (This was in Mesa, AZ). Unless Dr. Feng's pathologist has specific directions on how to analyze them, it may not be worth the time and effort. Don't get me wrong, because I do trust Dr. Feng's office greatly. But they are not in the business of analyzing implants. They are in the business of taking them out. I was given my implants after surgery too--in a bowl with a cloth stuff on top of them. I took them home like a bowl of leftovers. I did send mine to Dr. Blais and he was able to determine that they were contaminated with organisms, but because they were not handled properly, he could do nothing with them. If you want a proper analysis of the organisms contained in your implants, I think the only way to do it is to request that they be packaged appropriately, and then you send them on to Dr. Blais yourself.
