Guest guest
Hi Stuck, I am probably the perfect person to answer your question on this one ). The whole world would be such a clearer place,if people would just learn to speak about personal things.I have used the today sponge forever!!!!!!!! I tried a diaphram, and by the time,I finally got it into place,,,,I was totally sore!!!!! That was no fun at all,I threw it out.I had a hysterectomy,in 99,so I have never used the today sponge, since it was re-introduced into the market.I can only speak for the older product.I used the sponge for years and years and years,,,,I never got pregnant, while using it.As far as it being messy,,,and hindering lovemaking and kissing all over, that was not a problem at all. I would just douche, and then moisten the sponge with a bit of water and insert it and then wash as usual. You would think that the spermacide in it would be creamy and discusting and unedible,,,,,but it is not.You would think it would be thick, too, but! it isn't.If people could only just talk to eachother about things,,,instead of just not saying anything,,,,,,,,the world would improve.Hope this helps you some. Guest guest
Hi ! Congratulations on making it home! I know this is going to be a rough adjustment period for you. Just go with the flow, and let God be your comfort. Things will mellow out in time and you will survive it all with His help. I would say that your monthly cycle could throw a wrench in your healing right now. I know I always felt worse when it was approaching. As far as your symptoms increasing, usually it takes about 6 weeks for that honeymoon period to wear off and symptoms to come back (and sometimes they come back even worse than before until real healing begins)....but some women do not have a radically profound healing moment after explant and do struggle for quite awhile. It is fairly unpredictable. Take it easy and don't overdo anything. You've got some bumpy road ahead but we've all gone through it, and your body should be displaying some signs eventually that it is thankful the implants are gone. Use this time to do some more reading on detoxing and stay optimistic about your future healing. Guest guest
my symptoms definitely get worse around my period. dr. shanklin also told me that post surgery flair ups are common up to 6 months after surgery. once you go in and stir up the immune system things become very hypersensitive again making symptoms worse. give yourself time with adjusting to the clothes. I remember being so anxious getting back to the mall and finding a new wardrobe that I would look and feel the same confidence wise in wearing. everything I tried on brought me to tears and I would leave the mall with nothing returning home depressed. I had to learn to stand back and look at the whole picture, and not base my opinion on how far out my chest was. stopping by victoria secrets for a padded bra and inserts helped me during this transition of trying to emotionally adjust to my new old self. personal question Good Afternoon Ladies!Randy and I made the long trip home, and arrived in time to have dinner with the kids. I have a migraine that darvocet isn't touching. I have noticed an increase of symptoms everytime I get my period, which I started yesterday. Guest guest
congratulations -I'll bet it felt so good to hug your kids and get into your own bed! You did it!! Give yourself some time to get feeling better. My symptoms ALWAYS get so much worse right before my period too. In some ways its hard - trying to find a bra with the right fit. But every time I see those padded bras, I just can't bring myself to do it. I WANT to enjoy being little again, and not beat myself up over it. I know you know this, but sometimes we need to be reminded that our beauty is not only from within and how beautiful God thinks we are, but the way we feel about ourselves and the way we carry ourselves is many times how others see us. When I had the implants I tended to slouch so that no one would be able to tell they were implants. Rather than thinking " Big is Beautiful, we should be thinking " Little is Lovely " !!! Before surgery I found myself praying that I would be a beautiful wife and mother, cause really what else matters! , without even meeting you to see your outward appearance, I think you are very BEAUTIFUL - can I change that to LOVELY? Guest guest
I myself didn't notice an increase in symptoms after explant. But I definitely notice an increase in symptoms with my cycle. There is a very definite connection between female hormones and the functioning of our immune systems. I hope you get to feeling better soon--and I am glad you are home. Guest guest
, I noticed an increase in symtoms as well. I figured it was because my body was already compromised, and having surgery made my body that much weaker. I think taking out the implants might stir up the immune system again - and I'm sure there are some organisms around the implants and in the capsules that get disturbed when we have surgery. Guest guest
I forgot to mention, mine got worse with the cycles as well. I stopped taking the pill and haven't had a period since November, but that's no surprise because I went into an early menopause about 5 years ago. However, I think I still have hormonal fluctuations because I spend a few weeks feeling a little better, followed by a few weeks of feeling pretty awful. At first it definitely looked different being back to my normal shape, but it really didn't take long before I was loving the way I looked again. Actually I wouldn't look at myself when I was getting changed or anything at first, because I didn't want to get upset about how my breasts looked immediately after surgery. At 3 months post-op, they're looking good and the scars are fading. Guest guest
Hi , I am glad to hear that you are back home. I would totally expect that you have had and will have some hard days ahead. Procedures can take a lot of out a person. And not to mention all the emotional stress that you are dealing getting the implants out. Please take care of your self and rest as much as possible, but also when you get a chance stretch your joints. You are in my prayers . You are not alone and we are all here to help cheer you on and guide you in helping you to become well. The clothes thing is hard and will be hard for me too. Just tonight I put on my jammies and I liked that I had a figure, but I hate my implants. I actually went thru some of my clothes last weekend. I took some to a 2 hand store and also gave a few things away to girl friends. Then I went out shopping, but could only get a couple of new shirts. I was so funny in the fitting room, because I kept on moving to try to get a flat look. The joys!! For now until you can go out and get some fun new clothes I would go through your closet and pick a few comfy clothes. Another place to see woman who are smaller is in the althletic catalogs title9 sports, athleta, and I am sure there are many more. Also there is a popular magazine for woman and they are all real and been mothers and have lived. I think it is called allure or instyle or I could be way off, but I did happen to read it at one of my recent appointments and I found it comforting to see real woman's bodies.. Hang in their !! Guest guest
, Are you being affected by the cold weather by any chance? . . . If so, it might help if you dress extra warm for a while since hot baths are out for the time being . . . And try to look for positive experiences! . . . Trying on your old wardrobe doesn't sound like a fun time! I'm sorry it wasn't a quick turnaround for you. But you will get there - you have the faith it takes to make it! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
