Guest guest Posted December 20, 2008 Report Share Posted December 20, 2008 My son has PANDAS. He had gamma strep +4 in stool in June and had high DNase titer which doc gave penicillin for. His OCD got better for around a month, then resumed once he started school again. At that point his ASO went up, so another DAN doc rx'ed Zithromax. He improved but not completely, and did get yeast flareups both gut and skin tinea. I suspect that he continues to have strep in his gut, protected in biofilm mucous, and that he has a basic immune problem where his body reacts to anything strep including strep. thermophilus which is a common probiotic used to thicken yogurt and make cheese. We then did a homeopathic approach where he had one dose of strep 200x. The symptoms under control so we are taking a break and just giving antioxidants, Custom Probiotics and a homeopathic called lycopodium for now.
