Hi

Welcome to our group. I am sorry to hear that you haven't

experienced any improvements since being explanted. How we heal and

ultimately how much health we recover is variable. Many women,

but certainly not all, notice some improvements fairly quickly after

explant. Some women don't notice any or actually feel worse. Some

women feel better for about six weeks, then symptoms start up

again. No matter which category you fall in, that doesn't mean that

you won't eventually heal. The timeline can vary dramatically. I

am four years post explant and have recovered significantly. I

still feel that I am continuing to improve even more as I am

constantly working on problem areas to get fully past all my health

issues. It truly runs the gamut of women feeling greatly recovered

within months to women still feeling very toxic and sick at two

years or more. One woman on our site felt very little change after

explant until about a year had gone by. Then she noticed all kinds

of improvements and her blood tests --ANA --came back down to the

normal range. In fact, the founder of this site, Patty, has said

many times that she still felt very toxic and sick at around 2 years

post explant. By the time she was nearing four years, she was

feeling wonderful and continues to feel great! Many women find they

need to really detoxify their bodies to get well. If you read

through the archives you will see where we discuss all kinds of

cleanses, detoxes and supplements that have been useful in getting

better. The problem is that our bodies are so very complex and it

is hard to figure out how to get our bodies to function

normally again and heal themselves. We can be dealing with all

kinds of pathogens: candida, mycoplasma, parasites, bacteria and

all other kinds of organisms. Our bodies are also toxic because of

environmental toxins in addition to the toxins we may have as a

result of the implants. Once we are toxic, our entire balance in

our body is off..from the cellular level on up. Neurotransmitters

are screwed up,the entire hormonal system becomes out of balance

(adrenal, thyroid, female hormones, etc), we often develop all sorts

of nutritional deficiencies due to toxic bowel, the liver gets

congested and we cant detoxify our bodies, etc. The challenge is in

trying to get rid of toxins and restore proper functioning of our

body systems.

While Dr. Vasey believes in the damage done by implants and will

validate your beliefs, he is a traditional rheumatologist and will

do little to help you other than prescribe the traditional

painkillers and immune suppressing drugs. In my opinion, more women

will get well from implant sickness by helping their bodies heal

themselves. No one gets well by taking pharmaceutical drugs even

though some people temporarily feel better by taking them. They are

not a cure. In my opinion, the best chance to get well involves

changing your diet, killing off pathogens and detoxifying the body

and supporting your immune system. For many people, cutting out

sugar, all baked and packaged goods, and

increasing the amount of raw vegetables and fruits has been

helpful.

I highly recommend Jordan Rubins books on eating for health. I am

reading his latest book called " The Great Physician's Rx " . It is a

seven step program to wellness. Jordan was cured of a nearly fatal

case of Crohn's Disease and since then has received doctorates in

nutrition. He is the founder of an extremely successful company

called Garden of Life which sells quality supplements. Some of the

better ways to kill off pathogens include taking oil of oregano,

olive leaf extract, lauricidin, eating alot of fresh garlic, etc.

The

bowel flora is usually markedly off since there is almost

always a candida problem in immune disease. Many of us really like

Primal Defense by Garden of Life for helping to reestablish good

bowel flora and it also helps control candida. Detox baths,

teas, supplements, saunas, etc are also helpful. Many people here

feel that epsom salt baths, clay baths, colon cleanses, enemas,

liver cleanses, alkalinizing the body, balancing the hormones, etc

have helped.

Rather than Dr.Vasey, I would try to find a person who

can help you figure out best how to detoxify your body and then

support it properly so it will heal itself. There are people here

who work with doctors, and then there are many who just try things

on their own. Have you been diagnosed with any form of arthritis,

fibromyalgia, cfs, etc? If so, you may want to look into what is

called AP (antibiotic protocol). This really helped me. If you

want to learn more about it and how it is used in numerous immune

diseases, check out www.roadback.org. This website will explain all

about it. If you go to their Bulletin Board, you can read the posts

of hundreds of members who have RA, lupus, scleroderma, mctd, fms,

and other non specific arthritis like conditions and how this

therapy is helping them. It is prescribed by both regular doctors--

including some rheumatologists--and by more natural

pathic doctors.

One thing to remember is that as you are getting better and your

body is releasing stored up toxins, it is highly likely you will

feel temporarily worse. This is called a " cleansing

reaction " , " healing crisis " , or a " herxheimer " (named for the man

who described it). It actually is a good sign that your body is

killing off pathogens, but it can give you the same or even

different symptoms that you were already experiencing. As soon as

your body can successfully rid itself of this toxic residue, you

will then experience a higher degree of well being.

I wish that getting well was in a straightforward line, but for many

of us, it isn't. It is a process of finding what helps and can

involve both steps forwards and backwards as we reach higher levels

of healing. This group will be here to help support and encourage

you in any way we can.

Hugs, Kathy
