Guest guest
Welcome , The real test is your heart. If your heart tells you that it is the implants, then it is. I am sure it is the implants making you ill. If your were healthy before the implants and now you are sick, what other cause can it be? I have a short list of diagnoses, but many symptoms that "act like" major diseases. All my tests show normal results. All my doctors' say my implants are "safe" because they are saline. I got mine in 2000, and my first debilitating symptoms came a year ago. I am getting mine out this week. You have some very important choices to make, the first is whether or not you want them out. Then, which doctor will do it and do it right. You deserve the best when it comes to your explant surgery. You will want a surgeon who will take the capsule out with the implant. There is a list of recommended doctors here. Your PS most likely will not be supportive, even if you bring your information to him. Most are like car salesmen. They will sell you a car, but they don't want them back. He makes money by selling the implants, so he wont bite the hand that feeds him. The good news is you are going to get a new family of women here to support you. We are here to help you with any questions you may have. spateacher06 <aphi9823@...> wrote: HI Ladies, I'm glad I found this forum! I got my implants August 04 and started filling sick August 05. I've been to many doctors and had many tests and noone has an answer. I was diagnosed with Fibromyagia, tmj, I'm exhausted, depressed, I have anxiety, neck and back pain, swollen lymph nodes, trouble concentrating and can't remember things. The list goes on...I never thought it would be my impants until I started researching and found SOS. I'm freaking out!! I've been feeling like this since August and it's so frustrating and noone understands. What is actually causing all of these symptoms? I know the implants but what's going on with the implants? I am calling my Plastic Surgeon tomorrow to make an apointment and I'm going to fill him in on what's been going on and the information I found concerning the implants. Is the explantation a painful surgery? Is it an expensive surgery and can any PS do it? Is there a test that can be done to find out if the impants are the cause of all this? I feel like I know deep down they are but am so scared to go through all of this. Any advice would be appreciated.xoxo, Autos. Looking for a sweet ride? Guest guest
Hi , I'm really glad you found us - this site has literally saved my life. Your symptoms sound very much like my own - and how ironic, everyone who comes to this site with implants, complaining of symptoms, always says that their test results are " normal " , their doctors say " it's not the implants " , but yet we all have similar symptoms and implants in common. is right, your plastic surgeon will deny that implants are making you sick - it is all just so sickening when I see how many of us are suffering, and the FDA and the medical community treat us like we're insane. There are no tests to confirm the implants are making you sick - because the medical community has never once tested any women who have gotten sick from implants. This is a big money maker for the manufacturers and surgeons, billions of dollars are involved, and we all know that money talks. I had my implants for a total of six months and they made me quite ill - I got them removed two months ago by Dr. Lu-Jean Feng. Good luck and if you have any other questions, please ask, we're here to help. Sis > HI Ladies, I'm glad I found this forum! I got my implants August 04 > and started filling sick August 05. Guest guest
Welcome , There are several things that my be causing your health problems. Because they refuse to study women sick from implants, we don't know for sure which one may be affecting you. First . . . women may be allergic to some of the materials used in implants . . . Calling them saline or silicone gel is simplistic. . . There are other chemicals used with these materials. .. Our archives has a list. Secondly, your implants may be been contaminated when they were implanted . . . either the envelope the implant is in, or the saline put into the implant at the time of surgery. Thirdly, the valve of the implant may leak, allowing body fluids to enter your implants, grow a host of dangerous organisms, then send them back into your body. Don't expect your surgeon to be sympathetic! . . . Most deny the fact and, it appears, try to make us feel that we are the ones with the problem. WRONG! Explant is usually much less painful than implant. . . Recovery is usually pretty quick . . . Costs vary by doctor and area of country. Expect to pay at least $6000. With a good surgeon, you should return to your preimplant shape, or better, if you have a lift (mastopexy). Since you're sick, you MAY find that your insurance will pay for removal. . They will not pay for a lift. Dr. Kolb appears to be the only plastic surgeon who is interested in addressing the accompanying health problems. Chances are you will need to do some detoxing. You can start now, but you won't see signficant results until your implants are gone. If you have any questions, I think you'll find this group ready and willing to help. We've all been there and know what you're going through. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
