Guest guest
I did too, so I would likely have been like you and Kathy. I would have to think simply detoxing for someone like you, wouldn't be enough because you have got to calm down the body's auto immune reaction. Out of all the women here, how many of you think you had auto immune issues prior to implantation and how long has it taken to get better? How many of you were well prior to implantation and how long has it taken to get well? I'm curious if those with auto immune issues prior to implantation have taken longer to get well. Guest guest
I had absolutely no autoimmune problems prior to implantation. All my problems were implant caused. And no-one in my family still has the type of problems I have developed. Lynda At 06:07 PM 2/10/2006, you wrote: >I did too, so I would likely have been like you and Kathy. Guest guest
Kenda, I had no health problems prior to impants. I was never sick and hardly caught colds. I even had perfect attendance at work. I didn't even start any symptoms from the implants untll I had them 2 years. Then things started going slowly downhill, which didn't speed up till the last year. As far as recovery, I guess time will tell. Guest guest
, It will be interesting to see if maybe you heal more quickly since you were so healthy prior to implantation. Guest guest
I almost died, and it took a long time to even feel normal. I had silicone dumped into my chest by a plastic surgeon. I don't think you can compare that with saline implants in that I was exposed to many toxic metals that are used as catalysts in implants. But, I am much better because I detoxed my body for years. It saved my life. Lynda At 06:48 PM 2/10/2006, you wrote: >Lynda, > >Did you get well pretty quickly after explanation or was it a lengthy >recovery? Guest guest
That is really scary, I'm so sorry! There probably aren't a lot of fair comparisons because I'm sure some women were contaminated by a less than sterile surgery, past auto immune history, botched surgeries -- countless problems. I'm glad you're doing well, detoxing regained my health as well. Kenda > I almost died, and it took a long time to even feel normal. Guest guest
Kenda, I had no autoimmune issues prior to explant. I was healthy as a horse. However, it has become evident that a predisposition toward autoimmunity may exist in my family. Nobody had any autoimmune diseases before. But, after my mother got knee replacements, she exhibited autoimmune symptoms and has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia at least, and takes plaquenil and other drugs now. My cousin had some type of abdominal surgery, in which the doctor mistakenly left a sponge in her body when he sewed her up (maybe it was a hysterectomy or something, not sure?) In any case, after suffering for almost a year with this mysteriously ill condition, they opened her back up and found the disgusting sponge in her body. She is now on disability with an autoimmune disease...lupus, I believe. Scary stuff when you put things in your body....I believe that we could go our whole life and not actually have the disease, but when you get a trigger like implants, it sets it off. That appears to have happened to my family 3 times in the last 8 years. Patty > >>>> > >>>> Thanks, . Your message really helped, as I am very > >>> depressed > >>>> today. Guest guest
Hi Patty, I think you're right about being predisposed to autoimmune problems but not have the disease until you have a trigger. I sure wish I knew what my trigger was, I know there has to have been one. Kenda > Kenda, > I had no autoimmune issues prior to explant. Guest guest
That's exactly right. I have had discussions with a couple of rheumatologists about this... And it CERTAINLY does not make implants safe. Not everyone acquires lung cancer from smoking. But nobody would claim that cigarettes are safe. > >>>>>>> > >>>>>>> Hang in there Sis! Guest guest
Hi Molly, Welcome back! We weren't discussing the safety of implants at all. We were saying that some people may have a predisposition toward auto immune problems and live their lives without ever acquiring a disease. If some women weren't implanted it is possible they could have lived their lives healthfully, without the disease being exacerbated. Not all women who have implanted related illness have auto immune problems, according to the doctor I spoke with. Kenda > That's exactly right. Guest guest
Thanks Kenda. I am working part time now for an attorney on BI settlements! I understand that is what you were discussing. I agree that some people have a predisposition for autoimmune illness. A very good analogy is cigarettes. Some smokers never get lung cancer. Many do. But one would never suggest cigarettes are safe (not now, anyway) because some smokers never get lung cancer. > >>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>> Hang in there Sis! Guest guest
Molly, I think you are still misunderstanding. We weren't talking about breast implants. Cigarettes and breast implants do have similarities, cigarettes cause illness in some and not others, as is true with implants. But again, we weren't discussing implants in regard to auto immune disease. The point was simply that a woman could have a predisposition to auto immune disease and be healthy. Had she never been implanted, she might have lived a healthy life. Because she was implanted, the auto immune disease manifest itself. I think you are interpreting what we were saying as the opposite as what was meant. Kenda > Thanks Kenda. Guest guest
No I was interpreting it exactly as you said here. The toxin can be a catlyst that can initiate the disease process in one who ordinarily might be healthy, but who has a predisposition to autoimmune illness. That was my point. I added a second point that just because some people do not get sick from implants, or cigarettes does not mean these products are safe. > >>>>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>>>> Hang in there Sis! Guest guest
Gotcha. I thought you were combining the points. I don't think anyone here is going to say that implants or cigarettes are safe products.
