Guest guest
Liz . . . There are a couple options for reconstruction . . . Chances are insurance won't pay . . . but, if you've had cancer, maybe they will. One involves taking a flap of tissue from your stomach pulling it up under the skin with it's blood supply attached and forming a breast out of it. . Another does essentially the same thing, but uses back tissue. .. . Both of these sacrifice muscles! . . . There is another that uses microsurgery where they remove tissue from another location and transplant it to your breasts. Tiny blood vessels have to be very carefully connected or the tissue dies. The first two surgeries are major surgeries. I'm not sure about the last. . . I doubt the trauma to the body would be as much, but the surgeons skill has to be top notch! Do you think you would want any of these reconstructions? . . . If so, discuss it with your explanting doctor. They may want to do it in stages, or partially when your implants are removed. I don't have to worry about insurance paying because i don't have any. Now I probably won't be able to get any either thanks to the implants. No, I don't have cancer either, Praise God! I know I will probably need something done cosmetically but i can't afford it. I am a single Mom of a teenager and live at home with my parents. I work part time so i can go to school but i had to drop out because of my recent health problems. I live paycheck to paycheck. I spent my life savings on the breast implant surgery. Now I'm sure I'll have to take out a loan for an explant. I have an appointment with Dr. Sunsan Kolb in Atlanta on Feb. 3. Maybe she'll have some suggestions. Prosthesis may be my only option at least temporarily. God Bless, Liz __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Liz, You're going to come through this fine . . . even if you don't have breasts! . . . You can always look like you have breasts with clothes . . . and those who get close enough to see you without clothes aren't worth fooling with if it makes any difference to them. . . . Just love yourself . . . and others will too! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
