These rubbers are generally formed/cured using platinum-catalyzed hydrosilylation. The current scientific literature on the chemistry of platinum is reviewed, as it applies to the use of platinum catalysts for cure of silicone elastomers destined for use in silicone breast implants. These discussions serve as a basis to examine the recent literature describing release of platinum into tissues adjacent to silicone breast implants, the chemical nature of the platinum present in breast implants and the possible association between platinum and clinical outcomes.PMID: 16483647 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for the information. I have had burning in my arms and itching since having implants too. One specialist (skin) did a small patch test on me for Nickel and it came up in an itchy lump. He never looked any further though. Nickel is also a metal hey. I had never been allergic to anything before implants. Also, for the last few months I have been getting a burning sensation in my right leg. It comes on anytime and only last a few minutes, just like someone has put an iron on me but bearable if you see what I mean. I also get burst blood vessels on my hands and lower arms. Hope this helps too. -- Re: Can anyone get a copy of this? Platinum in silicone breast implants. Hi everyone. Here’s a link to the United States Food and Drug Administration website that explicitly states the composition of implants. No one told me that there are HEAVY METALS inside my saline breasts. I am allergic to metals to the point that I can’t even wear a necklace without breaking out within a couple of hours. This year I was diagnosed with Sjogren’s and have awful neuropathy, burning, etc in my arms and legs after having my implants since 1999.Not only THAT, I just went to a dermatologist last week and he thought I had Lupus so he biopsied my skin rashes to see. Get this – they came back negative for Lupus but positive for an allergic reaction to something. I have had some kind of rash or another since implantation but never had any kind of other rash except for when I wore metal. Omigod!More than that, there is a lawsuit that I saw on CNN just this morning that involves people allergic to gluten that are suing Mcs Hamburgers for not telling them that they use wheat flour in their french fries that make them very ill. If they win, those allergic to metals would have a precedence.Hope this website helps. Anyone else have a metal allergy? On 2/18/06 10:44 PM, "Rogene S" <saxony01@...> wrote: Thanks Ilena! Can anyone get a copy of the entire paper?RogeneNote: forwarded message attached.Opinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals. Guest guest
Thank you so much to KKJ ... Look what she uncovered about Brook, who now is selling his opinions about platinum in breast implants via this so called " study " in Biomaterials. Yet again, the manufacturers are influencing 'science.' Can anyone get a copy of this?
