Guest guest
Hello Merry, You're doing great, keep it up. Glad you found all of us diabetnicks. This is a marvelous site to learn from others. Your idea about signing your name & state is good so we can see how the states are represented. cimi california Om8421@... wrote: > > From: Om8421@... > > I just took my last 2 weeks of BG numbers into the doctor. Are your high 300's only after big meals? What are you eating that is spiking you like that? Any other health problems, kiddo? Susie

Diabetes is most definitely not a " one size fits all, " but in general, type 1's use a long-acting background insulin (L or UL, injected once or twice a day), along with a shorter-acting insulin to help them handle the carbohydrates in their meals. They keep careful records, especially at first, to see what they are eating, what they are shooting, and how the insulin and the foods cooperate with each other. It sounds like you either are not getting enough insulin, or are using an insulin which poops out too soon. It is very important to get those numbers down, kiddo. Are you keeping a journal of your readings, your injections, etc.? Worried in Appalachia, Susie
Guest guest
Merry, Glad your Dr. is supportive. I just went in for my check-up and my A1c was 5.8 I was pleased as punch. That is the last two check-ups that it has been in normal range. Spillman Louisiana
