Guest guest
According to Dr. Kolb, yes. She has a platinum chelation protocol provided by an Osteopath on her site. I'll post it. I see that the chelation agent of choice here is EDTA, which is by IV only. There are some chelation agents that are taken orally, which is what I used for mercury removal (DMSA). Each agent has a different affinity for certain metals, which is why there are protocols to follow depending on what metals need to be chelated. Here's that protocol: http://www.plastikos.com/art-pdtox.htm PLATINUM DETOX PROGRAM PROTOCOL PROVIDED BY MITCHELL GHEN, D.O., Ph.D. PHASE ONE 48-DAY HVS CABOROTORIES-DETOX SAUNA OR HOT BATH WITH 4 16 OZ. Guest guest
I just also noticed the Phase II has " Glutathione 500 mg twice daily " . I'm going to have to ask about that one, since you don't take it by mouth. I wonder if she means by IV? I'll let you know. Patty > > > > Some ND's do chelation therapy. Guest guest
Has anyone done chelation. There is a clinic about 50miles from me that does IV chelation. I was wondering if it is beneficial? glory2glory1401 <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: I just also noticed the Phase II has "Glutathione 500 mg twice daily". Guest guest
I've done chelation therapy several times. I used DMSA pills for it. I believe they were 50 mg pills compounded at a compounding pharmacy and prescribed by my naturopathic doctor as a result of the tests I had taken showing high levels of mercury and arsenic. After I moved away from Tucson, I was able to get a product from Thorne Research called Captomer that was DMSA, but was able to get it without a prescription. I took it for 30 days, and used a protocol that I became aware of through a doctor on a group specializing in mercury and autism. They used chelation therapy to heal the autistic children. I believe that chelation therapy can be very, very beneficial for those that have high levels of toxic metals, but you need to research it first, and careful about its administration. There have been some reports of negative side effects associated with DMPS, and I would reject using that chelating agent. I also would not take large doses of DMSA. It is best to do it in small increments rather than a large dump. So, it is important to ask your doctor how they administer it. I talked to one doctor in Las Vegas that did a 500 mg dose of DMSA once a month! From what I have read about chelation therapy, that is NOT a good way to go about it! What happens is that the large administration causes a great mobilization of toxic metals in your system that can actually be moved about in your bloodstream in such great quantity that you can end up with some toxic metals in your brain and other organs. It is much better to do a small dose more frequently, so your body can adequately handle the mobilization of toxic metals. DMSA is active for about 4 hours. So, if you took DMSA every 4 hours for 3 days on and took 4 days off to rebuild mineral stores, that would be a protocol that would be safe and effective. IV Chelation therapy is a little different and more expensive. They use EDTA, which is only adminstered through IV drip, and takes several hours. I am not sure how often it is done, but I have heard of people doing upwards of 10 sessions or more. I know of people who swear by it who had implants. The people I sat with who were doing the EDTA chelation therapy were raving about it....every single one of them said it had changed their life for the better. These were people who had heart conditions and had trouble walking and doing things. They were older people who were happier than they could be to be out doing things again like playing tennis and being active. A good book to read about chelation therapy is called " Forty Something Forever " . I would definitely do some reading about it before undergoing it. And then get tested to see what heavy metals I was dealing with. Hope this helps! Patty > > > > > > Some ND's do chelation therapy. Guest guest
I haven't done it personally but have heard from others that it was extremely beneficial for them. In my state, ND's aren't licensed to use IV's. We're hoping that will change so mine can do chelation as well as other IV therapies. Kenda > Has anyone done chelation. Guest guest
I know that anita's son has a high level of platinum. Has she had any success with lowering it? I know that she did the gluthione IV's but I don't think that made much of a difference. Do you know any more Patty? Hugs, Kathy > > > > Some ND's do chelation therapy. Guest guest
I have been getting advertising stating that they have oral edta. Have you heard about that? I have thought of doing it before. Kathy > > > > > > > > Some ND's do chelation therapy. Guest guest
I did hear about it. I am not sure what to think of it. It might be a less potent form and may have limited value, so I would sure research it and compare it to what you get with IV EDTA. Patty > > > > > > > > > > Some ND's do chelation therapy.
