But here she'll be 4 y.o. in only 3 months (Yay!) and she has less hair than most 12 mo. olds! It just won't grow! We were cutting it 2x a year because that old adage of " It's hair, it'll always grow back " wasn't applying, and heck we were cutting more off than was growing in with just a trim! Then someone suggested cutting it more often and maybe it'll grow more, but that's not working either! What do I need to get it to grow Miracle Grow? Rogaine? My kid is really delayed, chronically ill, and she can't get hair either!! IT'S NOT FAIR!! I'm so sad when I see toddlers everywhere, girls AND boys who have thick heads of hair. I see girls who are only 3 y.o. with hair all the way down to their shoulders! Why can't Caitlyn grow hair?! The docs can't give me any answers or help, can any of you? Guest guest
Jeanne, Jillian has very little blonde hair now at age 1 also. She had a perfect mohawk up until about 3 weeks ago and her hair suddenly(i guess) got heavy enough to lay down on the mohawk or maybe it's the humidity returning to the air. I never thought of her not being able to grow hair. Everyone tells me they don't notice her ear anyway until I point it out.(from the face anyway. It's more noticeable fron behind) Foley
Guest guest
Jeanne, Can't tell you much about hair except I have been there.. When my daughter was three I was STILL taping bows to her head (little hair and what she did have was very fine). Something to look forward to if Caitlyn is like Dawn.. she is now 20, has hair to her waist and so thick that you can barely get it all in your hand to put it in a ponytail. If we had them in public I'll bet EVERYONE would ask if they were twins. I still tell everyone how Jack and Jillian look so much alike. Jeanne, My perfectly healthy nephew didn't have a stich of hair on his head until he was 5. He looked like he had been on chemo or something. He is now 6.5 and has a full head. Good luck. Guest guest
I know the subject was ears sometime ago....now it seems to be hair. But my son, , 15y, had teacup handle ears, too. He has had two operations, both cosmetic, paid for my insurance, to fix them. They had very little cartilage in them and were very floppy. Very low on his head. The surgery was major, but recovery was very easy. He was in sixth grade. I wish I could share, adequately, how thrilled he was with ears that matched, and were normal looking. He showed them to everyone. And pointed them out often. He had a complication with some of the internal stiches on one ear and had to have it redone. But it has been totally worth it. Even if insurance hadn't covered it , we would have done it. No different than braces or other cosmetics. He has so many strikes agains him that I didn't want his ears to be two more. Turns out it was a great decision. We are all thrilled. will be glad to model them to anyone who asks in Houston! Croskey, mom to Schick, 15y Charge. Guest guest
Jeanne, I am sorry to hear about the hair, but to put your mind at ease, my son , who also has CHARGE, has a full head of hair, curly and grows like a weed, and he is 2, so I don't think the hair thing is a CHARGE thing. When I was little I didn't have any hair either. I had strands as my mother puts it, and looking at my pictures when I was a baby, it stood straight up. I don't think I got actual hair until I was older, like 5 or 6. I bet your daughter will grow hair, it might just be taking a little longer, like it did me. Guest guest
- Aubrie and I would love to see ears! (If we can remember by the time we get to Houston...) DJ and I plan to fix Aubrie's as soon as she's old enough. We also feel that she doesn't need any strikes against her than we can eliminate. I'm glad to hear that 's surgery was successful.
