Guest guest
Dear Sally, I'm sorry not to be able to explain the prisms just yet, but as soon as I get the report from the doctor I'll type it right up. I think the prisms are helping control the input to reduce conflicting information and assist in tracking. The exercises should help build functional vision skills and allow Kendra to gain information more easily and without the need to turn her head to the side. I would love to know if it is the same optometrist!! His name is Bruce Wojciechowski. We also saw another behavioral optometrist at Pacific University some years ago but he did not have the same type of information that we recently got from Dr. Wojciechowski. You are SO right about positive or negative impact from the professionals that we meet over time. That's one of the reasons this list is so helpful is that we can get reality checks on some of the (outrageous) things that we are told. It's such a thrill to read of 's upcoming graduation. What are his plans for next year? Kendra's Mom Sally Prouty wrote: > . It sounds like > Kendra's new glasses have made a big difference in her ability to focus on > people and things! Guest guest
- We saw Dr. Boyer at Pacific U a long time ago. Good for you that you searched out the behavioral optometrist...sounds like a possible solution to some of Kendras challenges. is a JR. in high school. He has one more year at the high school. I think we will do a 5th year at a community college to continue the supports that he now has (intervener, Orientation and Mobilty specialist, vision and Deaf/HH specialists). That 5th year will also let him mature a little more. I'm not sure what he will do beyond the community college thing. One of his teachers at the high school is suggesting become a teacher. Who know!! Thanks for asking. Sally Prouty
