Guest guest
Greatings from Germany, my wife Ursula is on a trial against the mentor-breast-implant- manufactor, dependance Germany. One of the saline-breast-implants, that was implanted in autum 1999 deflated in winter 2004. Both implants were been replaced by silikone implants. According to our complaints about the bad performance of the products, Mentor statet after an examination of the exchanged implants, that there was an leak (0.3 cm) in the surface of one implant. The valve was found ok. Mentor " generously " offerd my wife the deliverance of new implants. Any other appeal to contribute to the costs of replacements of the implants were rejectetd. While dealing with the problems I got the impression, that malefunctions of the Mentor-Products arent a rare exception. As far as I understand, the FDA made some objections about the procedures of qualitiy-control during the production-process against Mentor. So I am wondering if you may could give me some useful informations on that matter. Do you have any Iinformations about official measurements (FDA?) against Mentor dealing with the production and safety of saline-breast-implants, wich was produced 1999? Could you share this informations with me? In the current trial Mentor-Germany refused any responsibilities. They also deny, that there were any complaints about the saline-breast-implants. So we have to present evidence about the issue. Do you have any advice? Thank you for your attention. Please excuse my worse englisch. If you can share documents I will send you the costs for any copy immediately. We have to answer in the above reported trial within 3 weeks. Guest guest
- Chris I don't have any info for you about Mentor and their implant problems but I did want to say that your wife should think about being reimplanted with silicone. This site is full of women who have been sickened both by saline and silicone implants. If she doesn't have symptoms already, she definitely could down the road. In our opinion, implants are not safe. The best thing she could do is get the implants out and not be reimplanted. That way she will never get sick from them. Not everyone gets sick from implants, but there is no way to tell who will and who won't and we aren't talking about minor illness. WE are talking about lifedestroying serious illness that destroys the quality of your life and your relationships. I pray that your wife decides to for go replaceement of her implants and gets these out including the entire capsule. Guest guest
Welcome Christoph, Your English is quite good! . . . If you have a problem with some words, perhaps my husband can help. He is from Germany. First . . . I don't know if this is the case with Mentor, but, at one time, defective implanted, deemed unacceptable for U.S. women, were shipped overseas! There is an ongoing criminal investigation of Mentor for manufacturing problems. . . You should be able to get the details with a web search. . . Workers were reported to be hiding defective implants in the ceiling. It's long been known that silicone injections are dangerous. . . Why anyone would make YOU prove that a leaking implant is safe, is beyond me! The manufacturer's have been known for dirty tricks, misinformation and false statements. I wish you luck in your upcoming trial. . . Hopefully your wife will decide breast implants aren't worth the risk . . . If you'll read through the archives, you'll see case after case of women who have become ill. They pass most tests, but doctors still can't find out why. Once they get their implants out and detox, they start getting much better! I've been posting many informative articles on the dangers of silicone . . . hopefully your attorney can use them to find the information he needs! If there's anything we can do to help, please let us know. Rogene Schorer
Guest guest
Dear Christoph, The best source of this kind of information would probably come from Dr. Pierre Blais in Canada. He is an expert on these failed medical devices, and has much information on the defective qualities of implants from all makers. Here is his contact info: Pierre Blais, PhD Innoval 496 Westminster Ave. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada KeA 2V1 613.728-8688 Fax: 613.728-0687 I am sorry your wife still have implants of any kind. Please watch carefully for any reactions to the silicone gel implants, which are dangerous to your wife's health in the long term. I wish you both the best in prosperity.
