breast implant capsular desmoid tumors. I will

certainly incorporate these case reports in the paper.

Reconstructive Surgery and accepted a year ago with

minor revision. However, I elected to retain the paper

because I believed that many more case reports of

connective tissue disease in women with silicone

breast implants were likely to appear in 1992.

Indeed, several hundred cases were published or

presented at various meetings. The paper has now been

rewritten and will be submitted soon for

reconsideration by the same journal. This new paper

is, however, restricted to the connective tissue

disease issue because it would be far too long if

breast cancer and mammography were included, and I now

think both subjects deserve separate treatment. I

will attend to reviewing the second subject a soon as

time allows.
