Guest guest
Thanks for sharing patty. How many days did you fast? How much improvement do you think you experienced with your knee? Hopefully future fasts will kick it. Hugs, Kathy > > I am officially breaking my fast today, although I will continue to eat a limited diet. Guest guest
Kathy, I fasted 4 full days with no solid food, (water only). On the 5th day and 6th days I had one glass of fresh squeezed pineapple juice and kiwi, and broth with onions, and then today, my 7th day I broke it with a salad of baby mixed greens, rice and I had to have a glass of raw milk, of course! ; ) The change I noticed is that my desire for food is much diminished, and I don't have any cravings for junk food this time. Amazing. That is usually what drives me insane. Mentally, my fortitude was like steel this time. My family and I were both amazed. I made Peanut Butter Bran cookies for them all on Sunday and then cooked dinner and it didn't bother me at all. My husband just looked at me and shook his head. He exclaimed, " How can you sit there and cook like that when you haven't eaten in days? " I really don't know except that mentally you have to be in the right place. What I usually do to increase my fortitude is remind myself that there will always be food available when I am ready to eat. It's not going away. I just don't have to have it RIGHT NOW. The right time will come for me to eat, and when it does, I will be free to choose some yummy things then. Telling myself those things helps me be strong and be patient to get through the fast. And of course, the best thing is that sugary things just sound totally nasty! Fresh fruits and vegetables are like heaven. My knee feels alot better! I am really happy about that! But even with minimal pain, I want to get rid of it completely. So I will fast again to reach that point, just like I did with the rash on my breasts. I am confident it will work because of the testimonies I have read and because of my past experience with fasting. I really love how good I feel afterwards. When are you going on your next one Kathy? Thank you for asking! Patty > > > > I am officially breaking my fast today, although I will continue > to eat a limited diet. Guest guest
Thanks for answering my questions. I was planning to fast in march. I am not sure now. I am going to Dallas on the 14th to see Tom for five days and then march 22-28 dale and I are going to maui. I am really excited! But when I fast I lose weight and I am already too thin--especially my legs and that is where I always get thinner. I already can't stand how my legs looking in a swimsuit-- not sure I want to fast until I get back. But that is a long time to wait. Guest guest
Hi Patty, Well done with the fast. Just wondered how much weight you lost. I would like to fast but don't want to loose any weight really, which I know is impossible but just wondered if it was a vast amount?? -- Officially breaking fast today I am officially breaking my fast today, although I will continue to eat a limited diet. Guest guest
Hi , Any fast, if for even one day is going to cause weight loss. For this reason, I do fasts at all. I have no weight to spare, even for a fast. There are cleansing, detox products you can use that don't necessitate fasts. Kenda > Hi Patty, > > > > Well done with the fast. Guest guest
, I lost weight while fasting, but it has been put back on again. It always happens because of my thyroid disease. I lost about 8 pounds. I wish it would stay off! But usually, within the next few days after eating again, the weight goes on pretty quickly. When I first started fasting, that was not the case, and I would lose it and it would stay off for a period of time. Everyone is different, and my experience may be different than someone else's but I am comfortable with the way it works for me. A slower metabolism isn't all bad, in terms of anti-aging and longevity studies! Patty > > Hi Patty, > > Well done with the fast. Just wondered how much weight you lost. Guest guest
Kathy, Have a nice time in Dallas with Tom! Woo hoo, and then Maui! I'm jealous! I still have never been to Hawaii, and I would love to go! I have a friend who lives in Lahaina and I've yet to visit her there. My son will be getting married in Korea next year, so I hope on our way back we can vacation in Hawaii while he honeymoons. That's my plan anyway! Have a wonderful trip. I am really happy for you that you are well enough to travel and enjoy vacations. jWouldn't it be nice to vacation together sometime? You know, you may consider doing just short fasts regularly, and over time it may lead to a metabolism change that allows you to carry more weight if that is what you desire. I believe that fasting basically normalizes our metabolism to a healthy level. Just my opinion though. I decided that I do not want to be a fast oxygen burner! (I'd like to think that the fasting I have done has allowed me to age slower than faster?) But of course, the real motivation for fasting is to allow your body to dump toxins. Devout Jews used to fast twice a week in biblical days, so I don't believe that regular fasting is bad for us...I believe that it provides healthy benefits. But I can totally understand why a very skinny person, or unhealthy person who is trying to overcome a depleted diseased state, would not want to fast. The main thing is for us to be convinced and comfortable with what we are doing to maintain or achieve a state of good health. That is totally an individual decision. Have a great day Kathy! (I've been wanting to call you! Yesterday I intended to, but I went out for a walk that ended up taking 4 hours--I walked over 10 miles! Owww, my feet hurt today!) Guest guest
Patty I hope you get to hawaii when your son gets married. That would be a honeymoon for you too! THanks for your advice on fasting. I am very serious about continuing to do fasts. I am however, also interested in getting away by myself for several days to do a religious fast. Just not sure where to go. I can't believe you walked for four hours. I love walking so much---out in nature. I hate the treadmill. How boring!
