Guest guest
a, I'm so sorry you're still suffering! . . . You would think that patients with poly implants would have been contacted long ago so they could have them removed sooner rather than later. I'd suggest calling Dr. Kolb. She may be able to suggest something that would help, or she may suggest cutting back on what you're taking, if she thinks it's herx. . . After having polyurethane implants, you can expect it will take longer to recover. . . Not good news, but I want to tell you the truth. You will need to be proactive in learning what you can do to detox. I'd suggest trying NCD - Natural Cellular Defense - because it pulls toxins out quickly. If you want, I'll have the woman who recommended it to me contact you and explain how it works. She can do it much better than I can. In the meantime, you MUST find a way to deal with stress . . . I know . . . that's a lot easier said than done. But, stress is your enemy now! . . . You may have to learn some mental gymnastics - mentally blocking negative thoughts - using a mental " eraser " . Purposely concentrate on things you like, enjoy, find entertaining or beautiful. . . It may take some practice, but it can be done . . . And it works wonders to get you through tough times. Guest guest
Dearest Rogene, You are so right. What really makes it even harder to forgive is I contacted the PS about my implants 2 years after implanted. This is about when the Testing results started surfacing in our Media. And he (PS) re-assured me... Then again 5 years later. So I changed PS, even this PS opinion was the same... Then again in 2000 as well as 2003, and still No Way were these local PS going to admit any illness' being related. This is not including the 7 Internal Med. Dr.'s I changed through out this time frame. I'm just going to get on my knees again and let the Lord have this Battle. And I pray for the uneducated Doctors as well. That should be our biggest Burden, because they are still convincing innocent women of not being in danger. And probably their own wives and daughters are in danger as well. Guest guest
Hi a, I wonder if surgery to remove the implants stirs up an immune response? When you see Dr. Kolb, see what she says about that. I've had some tough times since explant as well, but I'm glad to have them out of my body. My thoughts are with you and I wish you the best. Guest guest
a I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well and I can understand your anxiety about your symptoms. I looked actos up online and found this info. I think I would call Dr. Kolb and tell her what you are experiencing. You want to make sure it isn't responsible for your symptoms. Here it is: Consumer Drug Information Sheet Actos Brand Name: Actos Active Ingredient: pioglitazone Strength(s): 15 mg, 30 mg, and 45 mg Dosage Form(s): Tablets Company Name: Takeda Chemical Industries, Ltd. Availability: Prescription only *Date Approved by the FDA: July 15, 1999 *Approval by FDA does not mean that the drug is available for consumers at this time. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- What is Actos used for? Actos, in addition to diet and exercise, improves blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent diabetes). Actos can be used alone or in combination with a sulfonylurea, metformin, or insulin when diet, exercise, and one of these agents or diet, exercise, plus Actos alone are not are not enough to control blood sugar. Who should not take Actos? Do not take Actos for Type 1 diabetes (juvenile diabetes) or diabetic ketoacidosis. If you have heart failure, fluid retention or active liver disease your health care provider will evaluate you to decide if Actos is right for you. Reports of Patients' Experiences Since Actos Became Available: There have been reports of inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) and elevated liver enzymes. It has not been determined whether these events are directly related to Actos. It is recommended that patients taking Actos have their liver enzymes monitored periodically. General Precautions with Actos: Actos is in the same class of drugs as Rezulin, which has been associated with rare but serious liver injury, including liver failure leading to transplant or death. Because the liver safety profile of Actos is not fully determined yet, your doctor will do blood tests that evaluate your liver before starting you on Actos. These blood tests should be repeated every two months for the first year, then regularly after that. Call your health care provider right away if you develop nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, a feeling of tiredness or having no energy, loss of appetite, dark urine, or jaundice (yellow coloring of eyes and skin). These may be the symptoms of liver problems. Patients who experience an unusually rapid increase in weight or retain fluid (edema) or who develop shortness of breath or other symptoms of heart failure while on Actos should immediately report these symptoms to their health care provider. When taking Actos with insulin or certain other oral diabetes medicines, there is a risk of your blood sugar becoming dangerously low. Ask your health care provider about symptoms of low blood sugar, conditions that make low blood sugar more likely, and what to do if you get it. Make sure to explain to family members. If you are a woman who has not reached menopause but have not had menstrual periods; you may become pregnant unless you use an effective method of birth control. Actos, like other drugs in this class, may cause insulin resistant women to start ovulating again. Women should tell their doctor if they notice any changes in their monthly menstrual cycle. During periods of stress on the body, such as fever, trauma, infection, or surgery, your medication requirements may change; contact your health care provider promptly. What should I tell my doctor or health care provider? Women taking oral birth control pills should talk to their health care provider when taking Actos, because the effectiveness of oral birth control pills can be reduced. Tell your health care provider if you are trying to become pregnant, are already pregnant, or are breast-feeding. Because certain other medications may interact with Actos, review all medications that you are taking with your health care provider, including those that you take without a prescription. What are some possible side effects of Actos? (This list is not a complete list of side effects reported with Actos. Your health care provider can discuss with you a more complete list of side effects.) cough or cold headache inflammation of the sinuses or throat muscle pain swelling or fluid retention I hope that you get to feeling better soon. Guest guest
Trudy honey don't beat yourself up. Our limits on treatment are so different than our limits off treatment. Just the smallest of chores becomes an all day affair and we have no clue that something so small will take so darn much out of us. You're learning. It's different for everyone. The good news is you have food prepared to munch on all day today and probably for a bit! Just rest, drink a lot of water and eat some of that soup you made... It's gonna be okay. You just have to recover a bit. I'll never forget my escapade of making a turkey sandwich... took me almost 4 hours to make one stupid sandwich. Wore me out! Rest... find something stupid on TV and take a nap. Hugs,TeriOn Wed, Oct 27, 2010 at 11:24 AM, trudykinsey@... <trudykinsey@...> wrote: I quess I over did it yesterday.
