My child is definitely a viral and GI kid.

In your opinions which probiotic is 'better?' I'm getting a strong

instinct that we need to switch probiotics for some reason.

Custom Probiotics (which he has been taking 6 months) or Klaire Labs

Detox Support? Custom Probiotics contains: L.Rhamnosus, L.

Salivarius, B. Bifidum, B. Infantis (D-Lactate free) 250 billion

CFU/gm. This does NOT contain any strep strains, right?

He is currently suffering and being treated for a bacterial infection

(klubsiella oxytoca) (again) with Bactrim (from his DAN). I had him

tested for strep throat yesterday which was negative, but now he

looks worse than ever with dark circles under his eyes and now is

throwing up tonight and really 'out of it'.

All of his recent labs (CBC) are all pretty much withing normal

limits. He recently tested NEGATIVE for Lyme with IGeneX, but had a

few things a little abnormal, so I am seeing a Lyme specialist ANYWAY

just to get their opinion on retesting with 'challenge' in a month.

My son was getting so much better even on day 3 of his antibiotic,

but on day 8 he just took a nose dive again and now looks worse than

ever. He is so out of it right now and I'm calling our DAN again

Monday morning.

Anyway, I'm just wanting to know if I should switch probiotics? I've

heard this Klaire Labs Dextox support is really great. Any advice????

Thank you!!!!

He may be ill from the Bactrim (septra). It makes many children ill

and they cannot tolerate it.

And Bactrim severely depletes folic acid, so giving a good amount of

Folapro would be a good idea. And I agree, the Bactrim in general may

be just the wrong antibiotic for him. I would ask your DAN for

another antibiotic, add in one or more Folapro, and give charcoal in

between.

Poor guy, I hope he is feeling better soon. I will be sending good

thoughts your way .
