Guest guest
DCC017002623 DOW CORNING December 11, 1992 Steve Lamm, M.D. 2428 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W. Suite 200 Washington, DC 20007 Dear Steve: It was good to see you last week at the GWU conference. At your convenience, I would appreciate receiving a copy of the video you made of the proceedings. As we discussed at the conference, I would like to contract with your organization for a study of birth defects and breast implants. I envision something involving secondary data analysis, perhaps some type of study that capitalizes on the differences in breast implant prevalence by geographic area or race. Contingent upon the results of this initial work, additional research involving primary data collection may be necessary. Prior to you initiating any work, I would like to receive a proposal for review with my colleagues. In this proposal, please give me a rough idea of the time and money that might be involved. Given a decision is to proceed, and possibly after you have completed your feasibility work but before any Specific statistical analyses, I would expect to receive a protocol. Given we accept the protocol (which likely may be simply a more detailed or final version of your proposal), we will finalize a contract and you can proceed. This may Sound complicated, but I think it can be accomplished fairly rapidly. Best regards for the coming holiday season, Ralph R. Cook, M.D. Director of Epidemiology cc: Myron on, M.D. LeVier, Ph.D.
