Guest guest Posted December 15, 2008 Report Share Posted December 15, 2008 My son used to do this when he didn't have much language. This was his way of protesting to something he didn't like. He would just keep on " EEEEE " ing until he got what he wanted. That sound used to aggravate us a LOT hence he got immediate attention...:-) As he progressed via biomed and his language skills improved, the " EEEE " got replaced with appropriate language. I agree that for a non verbal child it should be considered a mode of communication whereas for a verbal child it would be more of a stim.
