Guest guest
Hello, everyone. I am a 58 yrs. old grandma of 4 and have been very ill for a few years. I found out awhile ago it's because of the breast implants I had put in 20 yrs. ago! Saline external shell/silicone inside. My family doctor asked me - finally - after months and months of complaints if I wanted to have them removed. He has referred me to a plastic surgeon where I live (whom I saw 3 yrs. ago when my right breast was very sore) At that time, he dismissed me saying, " well, there's bound to be a little discomfort " . I have an appointment to see him, as the woman doctor he was going to send me to is on maternity leave. I am so nervous. I can barely walk and am sick with a cold or flu all the time. Please respond with your experience. I am so grateful to find this site. Peace to All.
Guest guest
Hi Sunny, Welcome to ! . . . You are most certainly in the right place! Our archives are full of information. If you'll read through the old messages, you can follow women from the time they come to the group sick, through explanting, and back to health. Sometimes it happens quickly - others take longer - sometimes much longer. A lot has to do with the job your surgeon does and how much you put into following a healthy diet and detoxing. The Maker's Diet is excellent! . . . It would be tough to convert to suddenly. It's more easily doable if one eases into it. It emphasises probiotics. We've had excellent results with the products they recommend. Garden of Life. If you'll Phone, FAX, or Email your order to www.appleadayandbeyond.com, you can get an additional discount from that shown on the website. I just posted a message about finding a surgeon who will remove implants properly. This is very important! When you tell the doctor you want your implants removed en bloc, if the doctor gives you any flack about it - or tells you that you'll be deformed and depressed, RUN! We can recommend doctors who will leave you looking as good as possible given the amount and qualtiy of tissue you have to work with. Remember the doctor works for YOU! . . . Tell him/her what you want done! If you don't feel right about the doctor, find another one! We have a number of women who had silicone gel implants (I'm one of them.) . . . There are a few differences between us and saline implanted health problems, but the way back is about the same. Each of us has to find their own way - unless they're lucky enough to be able to find/afford a doctor who can help. We've found naturopathic doctors are usually better than conventional medical doctors. If you can find a conventional doc who uses alternative treatments, you've got a winner! We've got a bunch of wonderful women here who want to help. If there's anything we can help you with, please let us know! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
I am ecstatic to receive this support! Thank you for the quick reply, Rogene. I have felt so alone with this. My family, sons & one daughter-in-law and one close girffriend have kept me going, as well as my beautiful grandkids and Cutie, the cat. I'm looking forward to chatting with all of you. Guest guest
Hi - I'm sorry that you've been ill. I had implants for only 6 months because they made me sick within weeks of getting them. At least I was lucky enough to get sick right away so that I knew without a doubt it was the implants - but when you've had them for a long time and feel fine for many years, often you don't relate sudden illness with the implants. The shell breaks down over time and allows what's inside to pass through the body, and actually the shell itself breaking down can make us sick as well. One thing I don't understand, though, you said saline external shell and silicone inside. From what I understand, the shell is made of silicone, too, not saline. Be careful with that surgeon since he dismissed you a few years ago. Please let us know where you live, perhaps we can guide you to someone who might be better. You want someone skilled in removing silicone implants to perform the surgery, and they should also remove the capsule that forms around the implant. Sis > > Hello, everyone. Guest guest
Yes, but many get confused with the double lumen implants. Every implant except a few experimental ones have silicone shells. Guest guest
Welcome, Sis is right, there are no saline external shells. Saline is a form of sterilized water. It is usually given with intravenous fluids. If the shell was saline it would of been absorbed within hours of implantation. I am so sorry you are not feeling well. I wish we all didn't have to be here, but I am glad I have the support of these wonderful ladies. Without them I would still be searching for a reason for my sickness, now I am recovering.
