I just read your post about chromium picolinate and I sure hope it

works for me too. I just ordered some online, from vitacost.com,

because there were a couple other things I've been needing anyway.

I've had terrible sugar cravings lately, and no willpower, so if it

works for me, I will love you forever :) I've gone from a size 6 to

about a 10 in the last few years, since I was first diagnosed with

fibromyalgia. I've been living in sweatpants all winter because none

of my jeans fit anymore.

Thanks again for the info!!

Aaaaaaawwww Dianne. That was sweet of you. I can honestly say that I sincerely hope it works for you too. Even if it helps just a little bit. Believe me I so feel your pain! I went from a 6 to a 14 in less than three months. I'm currently at a 10 now so there is hope! Chin up! The world loves Dianne for who she is not what size she is. Now we just need to get Dianne to love Dianne for the same reasons.

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you had a complete physical? It sounds to me like you may want to have your blood sugar checked. The human body is truly amazing. Most people don't even realize that "cravings" is your body's way of telling you that it is lacking something. When you're craving a nice big crunchy salad, it's because there are vitamins and minerals in that salad/vegetables that your body needs. Having said that, please think about this...What disease process in the body is closely related to sugar? You know the answer, so try and follow up with your doc and do your homework before you see him. The good news is cravings are NOT psychological! So don't let anyone tell you it's "in your head" or that "you don't have any self-control." The other part of the good news? Once you get the cravings under control, you'll have an easier time getting rid of the weight, and once you get rid of the weight, the cravings will virtually go away. If the chromium doesn't help, there are prescription meds that can help, but you need to see the doc. But the most important thing is to see the doc regardless. That is the only body you have. Worship it, love it, nourish it and take good care of it and it will do the same for you...

I'll step off the soapbox now.

Can you tell I'm just a little passionate about health and the human body?

Hi Chirstene,

Like you, I'm pretty passionate about health and fitness and the human body.

My studies are in natural health, rather than traditional medicine. There's

nothing more interesting or important to me than the health of my own body.

:)

It is my understanding that a lot of food cravings of the unhealthy variety

are actually caused by additives in our food. I eat mostly organic, always

organic at home, and between 60% to 80% raw. I have no food cravings of any

type and have to believe that it is due to the healthful diet that I eat

because I used to have strong cravings. It does take self control to

change one's diet and to avoid the cravings that we have to unhealthful

foods but a lot of times it is the very foods we are eating that are causing

the cravings.

I see my regular doc EVERY 2 weeks, for Rx's that can't be written

with refills, methadone and percocet. I've had lots of bloodwork

done over the last few years but so far, everything " looks " fine.

Obviously I'm not fine or I wouldn't need narcotics. I just had

some more blood tests done last week but I don't have the results

yet. I told my doc about a month ago that my right knee is hurting

really bad so he ordered x-rays that showed nothing and then he

ordered more blood tests, checking for things like lupus, lyme's,

rheumatoid arthritis, etc. I really believe one of those tests will

come up positive eventually. My fibro was set off by what the

doctors said looked like a brown recluse spider bite, on my right

breast where I used to have a silicone implant, about 3 yrs. ago,

but I also still have implants that I need to have removed, and I

know they are the main reason for all my problems and my weak immune

system. Not long before the so-called spider bite, if that's really

what it was, I got hives for no good reason, and then the " bite "

literally ate away at my skin to the point of necrosis. It was

infected and really gross for months. I had to have it surgically

debrided about 6 months after it first showed up. I still believe

the implants had something to do with that infection but I couldn't

get a doctor to admit to it, of course.

I don't know if I've ever told this group my whole story, or just

written posts telling bits and pieces of it. It's a long and

complicated story because my problems began at birth, with a birth

defect called Poland's Syndrome. I've had at least 30 surgeries,

ranging from the age of 5 until just last year. It's been one

disaster after another and now I need to decide if I want to go back

to having the sunken in chest I had as a teenager or continue to

leave these " toxic bags " in my body. Luckily, I have a fiance'

who's very supportive of whatever I decide but I need to make the

phone call to get the explant done. I live in PA so I'll probably

go to Dr. Feng in Cleveland and the only reason I haven't already

done it is because I've had only PA Medicaid up until a few months

ago. I'm now on Medicare because I'm on SS Disability and I'm hoping

she'll accept that as insurance. I've seen a couple male plastic

surgeons in PA within the last two years but I don't trust them and

I refuse to go to anyone other than Dr. Feng or Dr. Kolb at

this point. I want someone who will do the job right and make every

effort possible to find a way to fill in the left side of my chest

at least enough to make me flat and not needing a prosthesis.

Like I said, it's a long story and that's just a small part of it.

The weight I've gained is minor compared to all my other problems.

I just don't have the energy to do much exercising or even the

regular active lifestyle that used to keep me thin. One thing I

have noticed recently is how much more control and willpower I have

because I quit taking my anti-depressant for awhile. I know I

shouldn't do that cold turkey but the only bad things that ever

happened when I did it in the past was that I'd walk out on good

jobs, mainly because I could see people for who they really were and

I wouldn't tolerate the unfair treatment anymore. I don't have to

worry about quitting a job anymore and I like the fact that I'm

thinking much more clearly, that I can cry now (I can't when I take

that crap) and I'm more motivated, simply because I'm not " numb "

from the anti-depressant. I haven't touched chocolate since I quit

the anti-depressant and I'm sure it's because I'm thinking about the

consequences, which I obviously didn't care about before.

I guess I've rambled on enough for one day. I need to get going for

now but I'll be in touch. This is a great group, by the way. I've

learned a lot. And one last thing, for now, I've been seriously

wondering if Dana Reeve died because of breast implants. I'm almost

POSITIVE she had them. Somebody NEEDS to find out!! I'm fed up

with the FDA and the doctors who continue to defend implants!!!

Thanks for listening to me vent, everybody. Love, Dianne
