Guest guest
Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. I get tired of complaining about pain, so I don't post for a while. But today, I'm absolutely miserable I had totally ran out of ALL pain meds yesterday, took the last of them in the morning and didn't get more till this afternoon. Now I've taken THREE short acting pain pills and 160mgs of long acting Morphine. Hopefully they will take this pain away. Don't worry, I won't overdose. But I can take a lot more than I my doc will give me and it really takes more than he gives me to ease the pain. My legs are the worst today. I don't know why I'm flaring and the CFS if flaring also as I feel like chit. I've just felt horrible all day. I took my meds about 45 mins ago and so far NOTHING! grrrrrrrrr He use to have me on 300mg's of short long acting Morphine every 8 hrs, but it interfered with the Pulmonary Hypertension and caused my feet and ankle to swell to the point that my feet turned all different colors and are now a stained brown. Permanent color now. I weaned myself down to only 100mg's three times a day and that took the swelling down, but I was left with out good pain control. Actually the long acting stuff doesn't really help me that much as it takes 8 hrs for you to have reached what ever mg you have taken. So if you take 100mg's it releases a little bit at a time until the entire 100mg's has been released into your system. So that just doesn't work for me. I need the bulk of it NOW, not over 8 hrs. I can't seem to make him understand that the long acting stuff just doesn't work for me, but he's a firm believer in it. I wish he hurt and had to take this stuff. Hopefully it would work the same for him and he could see what I mean instead of putting me in line according to the medical books. I get so upset with these docs because they haven't experienced chronic pain as we do and they don't have a clue what we feel and if we try to get more meds, they think we are druggies. I sure miss my old doc who retired due to a heart attack. He gave me what I needed to be as close to pain free as I could be. None of this long acting crap. It's hard to find docs like that as most of them unfortunately are afraid of the DEA. If they have documentation of your pain, why is it such a problem? I don't understand. They are just chicken chits! Ok, I guess I've had my b**** session for the day. Never know I could come back later and b***** some more. lol I'll bring cheese with me next time I hope you all are doing better than I am today. Blessings to you all ~Tommie~ www.myspace.com/tommiejj PH, CFS, FMS, Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, Restless Leg Syndrome
