Guest guest
Sure... Homeopathy AFTER surgery which ALREADY removed a part of her breast, plus previous liposuction and radiation. She is just avoiding the chemotherapy - using homeopathy in lieu of that...though, because the word " homeopathy " is often misused to mean all sorts of herbal and naturopathic protocols, I really have no idea what she means by this, without further details. Google turned up 2 articles, below. Joanie Suzanne Somers Has Breast Cancer Updated 9:22 AM ET March 29, 2001 LOS ANGELES (AP) - Suzanne Somers says she is being treated for breast cancer and has had liposuction to deal with some of the effects. The 54-year-old actress, who starred in the late 1970s TV series " Three's Company, " spoke about the treatment Wednesday on CNN's " Larry King Live. " She said she had part of her breast removed after a tumor was found last year during an annual mammogram, and underwent radiation. But she said she rejected advice to also undergo chemotherapy and has been taking a homeopathic treatment, against the will of her doctors. " I really feel I'm licking this, " she said. Somers said she decided to come forward after the National Enquirer reported earlier this month that she had received liposuction at a Southern California clinic. Somers, who advertises the " Thighmaster " and other fitness gear on television, said she had liposuction because she felt " disfigured " by the cancer's effects. " It was just to even some things out, " she said. She said she felt it was " humiliating that the public would think you are fraudulent " about the reason for her liposuction procedure. She said she hadn't discussed her cancer publicly before because she didn't feel she was ready. " Each day it is like a stab in my heart, " she said. " I just wanted to get far enough away from it. " It's not the first time Somers has gone public about a private difficulty. Her book " Keeping Secrets " tells about her life as the child of an alcoholic and how her family changed because of treatment programs. Actress Suzanne Somers Fighting Breast Cancer Updated 9:37 AM ET March 29, 2001 LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actress and fitness pitchwoman Suzanne Somers says she is being treated for breast cancer and is undergoing homeopathic treatment against the will of her doctors. The 54-year-old Somers, star of the 1970s television comedy " Three's Company, " also said on CNN's Larry King Live on Wednesday night she has undergone liposuction to deal with the effects of the disease. Somers, preparing to release a fitness book, " Eat, Cheat and Melt the Fat Away, " made the admission in response to a National Enquirer report two weeks ago that she had undergone liposuction at a Beverly Hills clinic. The Enquirer said she had undergone liposuction to have " fat suctioned from her inner and outer thighs, abdomen, hips, and upper back behind the armpits. " Asked on the show why she had not admitted the cancer beforehand, Somers, fighting back tears, said, " because I'm not far away from it yet. I'm not even a year away from it. " Somers said her doctors disagree with her choice of treatment. " This is what I'm doing for me, " she said. " I'm not telling anyone else to do this. " She added, " I really feel that I'm licking this. " >Hi Leo, > >So far I've heard she is doing homeopathy...someone said she will be >getting daily injections for the next 5 years. Guest guest
Lynda, Thanks for the news on how she is doing. I agree, avoiding chemo or radiation would be so much better for the body. I am sorry you had to deal with the chemo. What side effects have you had to live with? Don't they use a form of platinum in chemotherapy? Can those life-altering effects ever be undone? I am just so thankful that you are with us still, helping others still and doing well enough to travel and enjoy life as much as you can with all you have struggled through. How is your family doing, Lynda? Patty > > > > > > Thanks Sis, > > > > > > I'm doing really well . . . Guest guest
My chemo was 5-FU, which is Flourauracil (sp), Methotrexate, and another agent that completely slips my mind right now. The 5-FU was the one that caused me to almost instanteously lose vision, the chemo put me through instant menopause (7 yrs. early for me), it damaged my liver, it has permanently lowered my white blood count, and it caused my cholesterol count to rise. This is just some of the side effects that I was never warned about. There are many more. I absolutely refused tamoxifen, as it is a toxic time bomb like implants. Guest guest
In a message dated 5/5/2007 2:53:55 AM Pacific Standard Time, SSRI medications writes: Suzanne summer's beat cancer naturally. I'm not sure what she all did. But she didn't do traditional treatment. I'm not sure with cancer I would play with, but I probably would do a combo of treatments. She used a drug call Iskador, which is derived from mistletoe. It's extremely toxic and has to be injected several times a day, and fo course the FDA and other medical " experts " said this stuff is junk science and doesn't work, but meanwhile she's still alive, which she might not be if she'd had chemo. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
