Guest guest
Hi , I can't answer any of the questions regarding insurance or cost but I did want to tell you that you aren't spending the money on yourself per se, you are spending it for your family. Your family wants and needs you and this is a medical procedure that is necessary in order for you to regain your health. If you were having heart problems, would you hesitate in spending the money? You need to change the way you perceive the surgery and cost and remember how much your kiddos need you. Guest guest
, Kenda is right here. I was very upset with myself for awhile because of the same concerns. However, my husband was more determined to have me get the explant than I. I knew it needed to happen, but my emotions were getting the best of me. I did, bit the bullet and told everyone I knew what was making me sick and that I needed this surgery if I had any hope for a recovery. I was expecting my family and friends to not understand just like the doctors had all denied that my implants were making me sick. I also had to fight the embarrassment of telling some who didn't even know I had implants. (this included my children). To my surprise, everyone was very supportive and understanding. My inlaws are not quite convinced, but I know I did the right thing for my family. Guest guest
Hi , Unfortunately, when we get implants we aren't warned that we'd better get a second job just to put money away for our future surgery. I'm still paying off the credit card from the implant surgery, and the explant surgery came out of my severance pay after getting downsized. I wouldn't wait until I got sicker to get them removed, because the longer they're in you, the more damage is done, and the longer it might take to get well. My explant cost $6600 - I didn't require a lift. Is the $10,000 your speaking of the cost of explant plus lift? I agree with Kenda - you're making an investment in your family, because if you continue to get sicker, you might not be able to take care of them. You said you have a family with many needs - and their biggest need is you. The only way to know for sure if your insurance will cover it is to call them and find out, and honestly you don't have to give them your name if you don't want to - you can just say you're making a general inquiry. Guest guest
, Welcome to ! . . . You've found the place for straight and caring support! We want to help you get through the implant experience! It's criminal they aren't upfront with women about the cost of maintianing breast implants! . . . Movie stars change theirs out frequently - so they don't get sick! .. . . They must be changed at least every ten years - sooner if you are symptomatic! One plastic surgeon told me, to my face, he made money putting them in and taking them out. He didn't give a %^ & *( what they did! It is expensive. However, at this point, it's the best thing you can do for you, and for your family. Once symptoms start, they escualate. You're the only one who can determine how much you can stand! BC/BS may pay for removal! . . . The doctors we recommend know the codes necessary to get approval. There's no guarantee they will pay, but many of our women have been successful in getting their surgery covered by insurance. Guest guest
Hi , My name is Marcy and I was implanted with McGhan textured saline under the muscle in 2000. I am 30 and the mother of 3 children ages 1, 3, and 6. The last year my health has gone down hill very fast. Now looking back I think I started to react (eye problems) as soon as 6 months after I got my implants. I was explanted by Dr Feng 2 1/2 weeks ago and have nothing but nice things to say about her and her staff. Dr Feng's techniques and knowledge is VERY impressive! I am honest when I say that the money part of this whole thing has been a nightmare. But I was also was willing to do anything to get my implants out. I haven't been able to be a good mother to my children because I have been so sick. My family deserves a healthy wife and mother and I will do anything I can to give them this. Fortunately my husband has been supportive through my explant, but at first he wasn't. He was actually gone for military training when I found the information about my implants. It was very hard for him to believe the information. He is a surgical nurse. He came home in the middle of the night the day before we left to go to Ohio to get my explant. in your post you said that your original PS wasn't honest with you about the risks. It isn't your fault. You need to take care of yourself so you can be there for your family. You are worth the money. No individual should have to go through what we are all going through because of implants. Guest guest
, I'm afraid that the Canadian health care system doesn't cover U.S. Citizens! . . . Our health system is at the breaking point! . . . They can't have it both ways! . . . If the government wants to look the other way while toxins are dumped in our environment and put into our foods, nutrient empty processed foods are promoted, and manufacturer's of toxic devices are protected, we can expect health care costs so enormous that the U.S. health care system collapses under the weight of sick people. It's criminal! Hugs, Rogene
