Guest guest
, For me, explant was MUCH MUCH easier than implant. Alot less painful, healing took place quicker, although I felt additional fatigue afterwards I was still able to go back to full-time school a week later. I can understand the strain that your illness put on your marriage, mine was falling apart before I got the implants out, too. My husband still occasionally will try to tie my health issues to other things, but I'll ask him if he's joking, and he'll say yes. The only difference between the items you outlined in your e-mail and mine is that I wasn't sleepy, in fact I would wake up at 3 AM and wouldn't be able to get back to sleep, so I wasn't napping alot - but otherwise I was the same way, the checkbook was a total disaster until just recently. Now I know to the penny what's in my checkbook, so maybe that's one of the first steps towards my healing - a balanced checkbook. Guest guest
Christene, My explant was much less painful than when I had my implant surgery. I've had a total of 7 surgeries related to implants and that one was the most painful because the implants were put under the muscle. I only took a few days off work: my explant was on a Friday and I back to work the following Monday, but you might want to allow longer than that. I didn't have a lift though, as I had one my previous explant when I had my silicone implants removed; if you are, it might make recovery longer. I took about the same amount of time off work for that surgery too, but there were lifting restrictions so I couldn't go to the gym for several weeks, and that might be a problem if your kids are young and you have to lift and carry them. Maybe you could have a friend or family member help if that's the case. Guest guest
Chris? The next time you see your husband, will you just look at him and say " thank you " and when he says " for what? " Tell him " For being you. " I think he is a testament to the strength needed by spouses. Somewhere mine just lost his strength and determination. Your husband realy deserves to be acknowledged. I'm so happy for the two of you. I wish I could enjoy the same, but at this point I'll be happy with my getting my health back.. Guest guest
I'm sorry I'm chiming in late. I was implanted 12 years ago and had a horrendous recovery, was off of work for about a month and still bruised and in pain after that. My explant was fantastic! I woke up feeling like a new person and went shopping with my husband the very next day with the drains still in. We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant too before I felt like it was time to go back to rest. By day 4 after my drains were removed I was feeling well enough to attend a summer solstice celebration. Everyone is different, but the explant was so much easier than the implant.
