We are all individual in this regard. Some will find that one way works better for them than it does for another. Explore various avenues, but here are some ideas. I will say first and foremost that my personal favorite is through prayer and mediation with God. He is my source of comfort in every situation, and God's Word is filled with promises of peace even though storms in life rage around us. It has proven true in my life, and in the lives of thousands and millions before me, so you can take comfort knowing that God knows your every need and will hear you. Cece Winans has a song called " The Throne Room " , and that is maybe one of the best ways to picture it...departing the cares of this world to enter God's throne room, and climbing into His lap and under His arm of protection and let Him listen as you pour out your heart to Him. You can empty yourself of all cares. He is our Abba, Father and He loves us so much. Other ways to find comfort and take away stress levels is to listen to comforting music in a quiet place while meditating (I love to use headphones, sit in a rocking chair, and play my favorite Christian music. ) Walking Painting, drawing, or any other form of creative artistic expression Dance Yoga Use essential oils in a warm, relaxing bath Get a massage Dr. Weil has several chapters devoted to Stress and the Mind and offers Meditation, Massage and also Visualization as effective stress relievers. Visualization comes into play in the image I shared above, regarding the Throne Room. There are also smaller lifestyle changes you can make to create less stress in your life. I'll list some more, which I got from Trudeau's book: Listen to de-stressing CD's Do Alphabiotics (www.alphabiotics.com) Laugh Smile Get and give hugs Speak powerful words Dont use a cell phone and drive at the same time sleep eight hours Go to bed at 10 Pm and arise at 6 AM (Ayurvedic medicine shows this to be the best cycle for deepest sleep) Take an afternoon 15 minute break Get rolfing (Deep tissue massage technique) Don't read the newspaper Dont watch the news Have sex Committ reckless acts of kindness Listen to nice music Get out of debt Drive less Be thankful Get an inversion table Use foot orthotics Get a range of motion machine (very expensive) Be lighthearted Stay away from psychiatrists and psychologists Do not use an alarm clock Use aromatherapy Use Callahan techniques for urges (www.tftrx.com) Get a pet Write down goals Plant a garden Cook Don't eat late Dance and Sing Find your life purpose Do dianetics/scientology Hope this helps !
