Guest guest
Janie, You have totally made my day. I am so thankful that you found this site BEFORE you got implants rather than AFTER. Had I found this site before, I am certain I would have cancelled my surgery as well. Even if you lose some or all of the deposit, you have something more than money can buy, and that is your health. I think your guardian angel was looking out for you when you found this site. Best wishes to you, Sis --- In , " janie_019 " <janie_019@...> wrote: > > Hi, My name is Janie and I am scheduled for surgery for implants on > April 7th. Guest guest
Oh dear Janie, You will never know how much your words are a balm to our souls! I want to say THANK YOU, thank you!!! We've struggled so much to be heard by the medical world...without much success. So to hear you say that you understood our agony, our suffering, our pain, and our losses, and that our sharing of our stories have helped you in your decision not to have implants is an incredible joy to us. It is what we hope for! We never want any woman to go what we have endured! I am so glad that you've taken the time to read our stories, and have an open mind about the risks associated with implants. I know how much I wanted implants....that desire can be very, very strong, especially when you know women who are completely happy with them. It comes as a shock to learn that thousands of women are suffering tragic losses of health, careers, homes, marriages, futures.....everything, all because of implants. What a wakeup call that is! So, again, thank you for taking the time to share with us how much our stories have helped you make a decision. It is a decision that may have saved you years of agony and thousands of dollars. Please do stay and take part in any way you desire that is encouraging and supportive of us. We welcome you! We also hope and pray that those women you know who have implants now never get as sick as we did....and we pray most of all that they do not bear children that suffer as a result of implants as well. But should they be so unlucky, you will be a great source of help to them as you learn about all of the ways we have coped. God bless you! Thank you again! Guest guest
Hi Janie! I have been on vacation the last week and am just now getting caught up. Your story is the mirror image of mine. I joined this list just over a year ago, at age 44. I nursed two children, now ages 16 and 13. I am a very small person to begin with, 100 pounds dripping wet on a good day. I was a 34C in my 20's due to the birth control pill and was a 34B normally. I was never unhappy being the size I am, I just wanted the fullness I had lost due to breastfeeding babies. I wanted to be a small C following implantation. I had my surgery date set and was excited about my new look! My husband was against my being implanted from day one but I convinced him that it was something I really wanted for myself and it was totally safe! I, too, am a natural health/ alternative medicine nut/student but still wanted to be implanted. I still can't understand how I could have been so willing to risk my health because I place such a high value on it. My yoga teacher was horrified the day I told him I was going to be implanted in a few weeks! I had a feeling in my gut that there were safety issues plastic surgeons weren't disclosing. I saw three different plastic surgeons for consultations and all told me implants were totally safe but still, a little volce inside me was screaming! After hours of research online, I found this group. After being here for one day, I immediately cancelled my surgery and have lived happily implant free. The day I made the decision not to implant, I know this sounds strange to some, I felt like my breasts were relieved! I owe my life to the wonderful ladies here who took the time to educate me about implant safety -- or I should say the lack thereof. It has taken time for me to learn to love my body the way it is but I truly have. I love the natural look of my breasts, even though they're not nice and round like they were prior to pregnancy and breastfeeding but they are me and all natural! I'm 45 years old and shouldn't look like I'm 18! I'm glad to see you changed your mind as well. I think you and I have both been spared the agony so many women here live with every day. I have stayed on this list to try to give back to the group that I feel saved my life. Kenda > > Hi, My name is Janie and I am scheduled for surgery for implants on > April 7th.
