Guest guest
Hi Janie, I was diagnosed with ADD back in the 60's and given Ritalin for 6 years to " fix " my ability to learn. I went from making zero's to making 100's. I felt weird all the time on the drug and remember being rather violent to my brother and sister. Also later I couldn't remember what I had learned and really couldn't use it. So I was passing the tests, thats all. I now know that if you give anyone amphetamines they will do well at focusing or paying attention during the fix, like coffee. When I was a kid the psychs were saying that ritalin was for children and wasn't needed or could even help adults. They changed the tune when It started making so much money. It's all BS, I refused the drug and my grades slumped. Then years later I discovered a way to learn that handles all of my problems, I can learn anything now. I'm still not as fast as some but who cares. I'm not feeling weird and wanting to punch people and thats all I want. The school system we use is not normal or healthy. All of us are literally as unique as snowflakes. I feel that your and my uniquenesses are what makes life interesting. Henry Ford type school systems will always need drugs to at least make the system look like it is working. I think the whole labeling of groups of people is crap and another way to make lots of money on peoples differences and make people feel that they are less because they are different. Dawn is right on the button about this. Love, Jim From: Janie <mama_jane_4_2000@...> Fred Baughman .... Subject: Re: [sCI] Re: I have posted the transcript of your video Date: Mon, 4 Aug 2003 10:51:07 -0700 (PDT) Although I don't agree that it must always be medicated I do think that ADHD is real and as a person with it have known how hard it has been all my life to fight for my dignity as a person with hidden disabilities. I have always had ADHD and LD in mild to moderate forms as did my deceased father and brother and also my living son. I can tell you people do not often understand it or make exceptions for it they merely label people with it as trouble makers or underachievers. It does not mean some one is stupid it just means that they act and think and learn some what differently. When I was told to medicate my son with Ritalin I gave it to him one or two times and he told me he didn't like the way it made him feel I never gave it to him again. As an individual who likes drugs that make me speed, a little to much, I would not want to take it because it would get me addicted really quick. But to say that ADHD does not exist and to not try to understand and make concessions for it I don't believe is the right thing to do either. That is just my thoughts. Guest guest
Christene, I cannot even begin to express my gratitude in words. If it was not for you and everyone on this website with the truth of their very personal stories, I would have most definitely been implanted within a few weeks. I can NEVER begin to repay what I have learned here and I will forever be thankful beyond words. I am so very sorry for your pain and the suffering you are enduring. I would like to stay here and lend whatever support or resources that I may have in order to support you and the women who are so courageous in their effort to educate others and regain their own health. For all this, I thank you so much! Much love and gratitude, Janie > > > > > > > I Love You Janie! > > I now know that every loss I've encountered has not been in vain. Guest guest
Janie, We'd love to have you join us! Kenda came here researching breast implants and decided against them after reading this group also! . . . She's a wonderful asset to the group! I know you will be too! We need informed women willing to spread the truth about breast implants! I'm so glad we reached you! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Aawwwww! That's kind of you. I'm sure the other ladies would agree with me when I say you have no debt here... The strange thing is, you never really hear about the bad things associated with implants or a Hollywood socialite with adverse reactions. I have come to terms with the fact that it happened to ME. I haven't been with this group for very long but the best part about these ladies is that they are regular everyday people. They are not representative of Hollywood. We are the woman standing in line next to you at the grocery store, we are the PTA at your childs school, and when all is said and done we are YOU! I do ho e that if you get the opportunity to share all that you've learned here, you will do so and not be shy about it. Please direct them here! Be proud of yourself too for taking charge of your own body and doing the necessary research. I'm the kind that would have said " Oh..it will never happen to ME! " But I'm here to tell you it did happen to me and all of the rest of these ladies. I so wish that I could take it from all of them and bear it myself...
